The Impetuous was a Raider-class corvette that served the Imperial Navy during the Imperial Era. At one point, the corvette, alongside a TIE Advanced x1, passed over a blue celestial body.[1] The Impetuous measured 150 meters long[2] and was equipped with sublight engines and four twin laser cannons.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Impetuous was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in "Here They Come," a preview for the second wave of expansions for Fantasy Flight Games' miniatures game Star Wars: Armada. In the preview, cards for the upcoming Imperial Raider Expansion Pack were shown, and although the Impetuous was pictured, its name was obscured. The preview was released on April 6, 2015.[3] The Impetuous's name was then revealed in a preview for the expansion pack titled "Fast and Aggressive," which was released on September 18 of the same year.[4] Artwork of the Impetuous was created by Ben Zweifel.[5]

A card called "Impetuous" was listed in the contents of the Imperial Raider Expansion Pack for Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: X-Wing Second Edition miniatures game, and artwork of the ship was used on its packaging.[6] However, although announced on August 7, 2019,[7] the expansion has not been released.

Zweifel's artwork for the corvette was created for the Star Wars Legends continuity, specifically the Imperial Raider Expansion Pack for Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game, also by Fantasy Flight Games.[8] In this continuity, the Impetuous was first shown in "Here Comes the Imperial Raider," a preview for the expansion released on December 19, 2014,[9] and first identified in another preview, "The Will of the Empire," which was published on August 10, 2015.[10]
