Hondo's complex was a base used by the Ohnaka Gang on the planet Florrum during the Clone Wars. The gang operated out of the base for most of the Clone Wars until it was destroyed by General Grievous and the Separatists in 20 BBY.
History[]
During the Clone Wars, the pirate captain Hondo Ohnaka and his gang operated out of their complex on the planet Florrum.[3] After a skirmish on the planet Vanqor, the Sith Lord Count Dooku was captured by Ohnaka and his gang]. They brought the Sith Lord to the complex with the intent on ransoming him off to the highest bidder. When the Galactic Republic sent Jedi Generals Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to verify the pirates had Dooku in custody before arranging a transaction, the gang also captured the two Jedi, drugging them at a party they hosted at the complex.[2]
Now imprisoned with their foe, the three attempted to work together to escape the complex unsuccessfully. When the Republic sent Senator Kharrus, Representative Jar Jar Binks, and Clone Commander CC-5869 "Stone" to pay the ransom, their gunship was shot down by Turk Falso, who wanted Ohnaka to sell to the Separatists. The survivors, which included Stone, Binks, and a force of clones, followed a group of power lines to the pirate base, where they were able to disable power temporarily to allow Skywalker, Kenobi, and Dooku to escape.[4]
After an assassination attempt on Jedi Master Mace Windu, bounty hunters Boba Fett, Aurra Sing, Bossk, and Castas traveled to Florrum, looking for refuge from Ohnaka, who was Sing's former lover. When Castas tried to back out of the group, Sing killed him. However, the hunters could not remain hidden for long. Jedi Master Plo Koon and Padawan Ahsoka Tano tracked them down, capturing Bossk and Fett. Sing attempted to make her escape in Slave I, but after being pursued by Tano, crashed the ship and was presumed dead.[5]
When the pirates captured Tano while she was out on a mission with a group of Jedi younglings, the younglings joined a circus that was performing at the pirate base that night as entertainment. They performed as acrobats and used the distraction to free Tano.[6] When Ohnaka's men pursued the Jedi, their base was attacked by General Grievous and a force of battle droids, who were sent by Dooku to annihilate the base that once held him captive. Ohnaka, who had remained at the base, was taken prisoner and watched as Separatist forces began dismantling his vehicles and other equipment. However, the Jedi once help captive by Ohnaka returned to help him, saving him from the Separatists. Ohnaka and some of his followers escaped using ships from Ohnaka's fleet from his secret ship vault as their base was destroyed.[1]
In the aftermath of the conflict, Ohnaka and his pirates set up Hondo's Salvage in the ruins of their former base.[7]
