A capacitor[1] or power capacitor[2] was a device used in the galaxy to store energy. Capacitors were used in a variety of machines, including weapons,[3] starships,[4] and even droids.[5]
The scientist Galen Walton Erso hoped to generate outbursts of raw power that could be harvested and stored in capacitors for use on worlds in need.[1] Capacitors were also used in droids like B1-series battle droids. In these models of battle droids their capacitors were a weak point, and clone snipers could hit between the droid's capacitors to take out the unit.[5] The ends of electrostaffs contained a discharge capacitor.[3] Shortly after the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Bad Batch had their ship's capacitor stolen by an Ordo Moon Dragon.[4]
