The Stealth Boy is a consumable item in Fallout 76.
Characteristics[]
A catch-all term for several devices, Stealth Boys work by generating a refracting light field around its user, making them nearly invisible to the untrained eye. The model seen in Appalachia is not wrist-mounted like the RobCo 3001 model, but worn on the waist.
It provides a 99% Stealth Field, reduces the chance of enemy detection while moving by 50%, and increases the detection sneak skill by 50%. All effects last for 30 seconds, which can be extended up to 2 minutes with the Secret Agent perk.
Variants[]
- Phantom Device - A standard Stealth Boy modified by the Order of Mysteries with a HalluciGen gas canister, it combines the benefits of both items by making the user invisible while deploying a cloud of HalluciGen gas, frenzying nearby enemies. It lasts 60 seconds when wearing the Eye of Ra.
- Stealth Boy Mark III - A superior version of the standard satchel Stealth Boy, the invisibility effect lasts 90 seconds, compared to the 30 seconds on the standard satchel device. It is sold by the MODUS production terminal in the Whitespring bunker.

- Big Bend Tunnel - Inside a side tunnel near the tunnel system's east exit/entrance, on the right, near a skeleton.
- Bloody Frank's - On a blue metal barrel on the roof of the spa building near a bathtub and scattered dishes.
- Bolton Greens - In a glass display case on the second floor of the function room, accessed by the lobby staircase.
- Charleston Fire Department - On the roof at the northwest wooden lookout tower, to the right of a wooden crate.
- Charleston Trainyard - In the office with the letter of resignation, on a desk in the opposite corner.
- Two can be found at Crimson Prospect:
- On the third floor of the central structure, near the stairs, on a wooden shelf to the right.
- Inside the opposite central structure, on the third floor, on a metal shelf, on the bottom row.
- Devil's Backbone - On a cinderblock near the top of the cliff, next to a skeleton in a chair.
- Fujiniya Intelligence Base - Inside the main armory, on a cabinet shelf to the left of an ammo box, behind a maglock door.
- Grafton Dam - Outside, on the table to the right of Knight Moreno's terminal.
- Greg's Mine Supply - In the basement room with the armor workbench, on a yellow diagnostic machine, on the right, next to an armor mod plan.
- Hornwright Industrial headquarters - Upper level (accessed from Charleston Herald building).
- Morgantown - On the same roof where the Roof climber's poem can be found.
- Pleasant Valley cabins - In the dinghy near the motel at the top of the hill.
- Sunnytop Ski Lanes - Upstairs, in the room number 6 (needs Sunnytop Ski Lanes room 6 key).
- Tanagra Town - In an open box at the top of the vine structure, inside the classroom.
- Wendigo cave - To the left of a skeleton, in a side room near the first waterfall room.

Prior to patch 1.2.1.18, Stealth Boys could not be used while in power armor.
