The Waffen-SS is an enemy faction featured in several Call of Duty games. The Waffen-SS was the armed wing of the Schutzstaffel during World War II.

Call of Duty and United Offensive[]

In the original Call of Duty and its expansion pack, Call of Duty: United Offensive, Waffen-SS feature alongside the Wehrmacht. They wear a green oak leaf pattern smock and helmet with standard trousers and they are almost always seen protecting important zones.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One[]

A regiment of mechanized SS is mentioned in the beginning of the game in the mission We've Been Through Worse.

Call of Duty 3[]

Waffen-SS appear as regular enemies, most notably in the last mission Chambois where they fiercely attempt to take the town. Despite this they are absent in the British campaign. They can be seen with their Panzergrenadier green oak leaf camo uniforms and helmets, the "" symbol is present on their collars.

Call of Duty: World at War[]

Campaign[]

Waffen-SS troops make a late appearance in Call of Duty: World at War. They are prominently featured in the end of the Russian campaign when the Red Army pushes deep into Berlin. Their first appearance is at the end of "Heart of the Reich" at the main entrance to the Reichstag. They are also the only enemies in the mission "Downfall", defending the Reichstag itself. In "Downfall", they are referred to as the SS Honor Guard. One loyal Waffen-SS soldier who survives the rocket barrage on the roof of the Reichstag tries to kill Dimitri with a Walther P38 at the end of "Downfall". Unlike the Wehrmacht models, which feature only field grey uniforms, SS Honor Guard soldiers are dressed in either black or field grey uniforms. They usually appear wearing bandages, and some are seen without helmets or headgear. They can be further differentiated and identified by the "" runes on their uniform collars and the red Swastika armband on their uniforms' left sleeves. Additionally, Iron Cross medals can be seen on their uniforms, as well as the Golden Party Badge.

Multiplayer[]

Despite the German faction in eastern Europe Multiplayer maps is represented by the "Wehrmacht", the Rifleman, Submachine Gunner and Bolt-Action playermodels take the appearance of Waffen-SS troops, wearing the distinctive woodland camouflage uniforms similar to their Call of Duty 3 models.

Nazi Zombies[]

Within Nazi Zombies, undead Waffen-SS soldiers are featured in the maps Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, and Der Riese. Although a multi-national organization, the logo of Group 935 carries the SS runes. This was changed with later installments.

Call of Duty: Black Ops[]

Campaign[]

The lead of development for Nova 6, Friedrich Steiner, was recruited into the German military as an SS officer. The remnants of the SS operate the German facility encountered after the end of the Second World War in the mission Project Nova.

Zombies[]

Undead Waffen-SS soldiers are featured within the Zombies maps Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Der Riese, Kino der Toten, and Dead Ops Arcade.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]

Undead Waffen-SS soldiers are featured within the remastered Zombies maps Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt and Kino der Toten.

Call of Duty: WWII[]

Campaign[]

The Waffen-SS appears throughout the campaign of Call of Duty: WWII. The Waffen-SS first appear in the mission Death Factory as they storm the player's position on the bridge in the first half of the level. They are distinguished by the oak leaf uniform camouflage. Like with the Wehrmacht, the uniforms of the solders in the campaign depend on the kind of weapon they use,

Submachinegunners wear full oak leaf camo uniforms, in Ambush they have winter uniforms and helmets, they mostly use MP40s but one in Death Factory uses a Toggle Action Shotgun.

Riflemen wear dark trench coats with the "Infanterie-Regiment List" cuff title; they have camo cover or regular helmets; they use FG42 and STG-44 rifles, sometimes with bayonets.

Shotgunner have grey uniforms camo pants and helmets with gasmasks, looking similar to the expeditionary division in multiplayer. they use Toggle Action Shotguns with incendiary rounds, they are incredibly dangerous on high difficulties.

Machine gunners have camo uniforms or winter uniforms, oddly without helmets.

Flametroopers have full camo uniforms and grey helmets with goggles, they strangely use American M2 flamethrowers. Only one appears in Hill 493.

Officers wear black SS uniforms with a red (censored) swastika armband. They use MP40s like submachine gunners.

Nazi Zombies[]

In Prologue SS soldiers are heard being attacked by Zombies, one is seeing crawling away before dying, He holds a device that carries Jolts and closes Marie's wounds.

Call of Duty: Vanguard[]

The campaign of Call of Duty: Vanguard features the Waffen-SS.

Waffen SS Obersturmbannführers (Lieutenant colonels) make common appearances in the campaign (except the Pacific campaign levels). They wear grey uniforms and black Stalhelms and they wear yellow pants in the North Africa missions. Officers usually use Klauser pistols but one in Stalingrad uses an MP40.

SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer (General) Leo Steiner is in charge of the Eastern front campaign, he surrounds himself for his protection with elites SS troops, known as Jagermorders.

Jannick Richter and Hermann Freisinger are members of the SS. Freisinger is also the head of the Gestapo.
