The Groph Pod is a feature used in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III zombies map Gorod Krovi. They are used to obtain three pieces of the Dragon Network Controller, which are used to access the control to ride the Dragon to the Hatchery with Pack-a-Punch machine. They can be called into the map by obtaining a Code Cylinder, which is dropped by zombies randomly after the Power Switch is turned on, and S.O.P.H.I.A. is interacted with.
Each dropped Code Cylinder will describe where it must be inserted into the console in that location on the map. Each player can only hold one Code Cylinder at a time. Once inserted, the Groph Pod will fall down from the sky in a random location of the map that is open to the player. Additional zombies will begin spawning and attacking the Groph Pod, where players must defend it and prevent it from exploding before it reveals the Part inside.
If failed, the next Groph Pod will drop the same piece that would have been obtained. There is a possible Trial associated with Groph Pods, requiring 3 total (not necessarily consecutive) to be successfully defended while still in "green" light condition, designated by the color of light along the top ring of the Groph Pod. Once the three pieces for the Dragon Network Controller are in place by interacting with the machine in the Operations Bunker, any other additional Groph Pods that are called down will have a random power-up once it is successfully defended. See Dragon Network Controller for additional tips and usage.
