Thievul (Japanese: フォクスライ Foxly) is a Dark-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII.
It evolves from Nickit starting at level 18.
Biology
Thievul is an orange-maroon vulpine Pokémon with a moderate build, slender limbs, and a long tail. It has white chest fur that puffs out from its body and vaguely resembles a cravat. There are two long black ears atop Thievul's head, as well as black fur around its eyes that resemble a domino mask. The black whiskers on the end of its muzzle are in the form of a pointed mustache and the white markings above its eyes resemble eyebrows. Its paws, back, and the tip of its tail are all black, and it retains the flared tail-tip of its pre-Evolution Nickit.
When Thievul finds a potential target, it will secretly mark a scent on them. Thievul then uses that scent to track and stalk its targets. By using its lithe body and claws, Thievul steals the target’s food and eggs from them when they least expect it. Boltund is an enemy of Thievul. It competes with Liepard for territory.

Trivia
- In English, the category "Fox Pokémon" is shared by Vulpix, Fennekin, Nickit, and their evolutions.
- In Japanese, the hiragana category "きつねポケモン" (Fox Pokémon) is shared by the evolutionary lines of Vulpix and Nickit, while the katakana version "キツネポケモン" (Fox Pokémon) is shared by Fennekin and its evolutions.
Origin
Thievul appears to be based on the red fox, possibly borrowing patterns from the cross fox, a variation of the red fox. Its gray shiny coloration resembles that of silver foxes, another variation of the red fox. Its facial features and moustache-like whiskers also bear a resemblance to stereotypical depictions of thieves and burglars, as well as the fictional gentleman thief trope and highwaymen such as Dick Turpin. Its front legs resemble gloves, which thieves and burglars would wear. Thievul's relationship with Boltund may also be a reference to fox hunting, where red foxes were hunted by English foxhounds, which Boltund appears to be based on.
Name origin
Thievul may be a combination of thieve/thief, evil, and vulpine (of or pertaining to foxes; foxlike).
Foxly may be a combination of fox and sly.
