TCG Rulings[]
Judge Program Forum Rulings[]
![]() | These Ruling(s) have not been confirmed as applicable to the TCG.[Notes 1] |
- If the effect of "Chaos Sorcerer" is activated (even if the effect is negated by another effect), "Chaos Sorcerer" will not be able to attack during the turn.[1]
OCG Rulings[]
Mentions in Other Rulings[]
- If a card like "Solemn Judgment", "Horn of Heaven", or "The Selection" negates the Flip Summon of a monster, then the monster is not treated as being sent from the field to the Graveyard.[2]
- If the Flip Summon of "Chaos Sorcerer" is negated by a card like "Solemn Judgment", then it is not treated as being successfully Summoned by the method written in the text, so it cannot be Special Summoned by an effect like "Call of the Haunted".[2]
- Evolzar Laggia: The effect of "Evolzar Laggia" can only negate Special Summons which do not start Chain Links.[3]
- You can negate Synchro Summons, Xyz Summons, and the Special Summon of monsters like "Chaos Sorcerer" and "Cyber Dragon" which do not start Chain Links.[3]
- Royal Oppression: When your opponent is Special Summoning a monster like "Chaos Sorcerer" or "Cyber Dragon" through its condition, you cannot activate a set "Royal Oppression" without also activating its effect.[4]
- Champion's Vigilance: This Counter Trap Card can only be activated against Special Summons which do not start Chain Links, such as that of "Chaos Sorcerer" or Xyz Summons.[5]
- Watt Cancel: This card can only be activated against Special Summons which do not start Chain Links, such as that of "Chaos Sorcerer" or Xyz Summons. You cannot activate it against Special Summons caused by card effects, such as "Monster Reborn".[6]
Relative Rulings[]
- Number 11: Big Eye: If "Light and Darkness Dragon" negates the activation of the effect of "Number 11: Big Eye", then you can attack with "Number 11: Big Eye" during that turn.[7]
Previously Official Rulings[]
![]() | These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[8] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. References: [9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] |
- You can only activate "Chaos Sorcerer"'s effect during Main Phase 1 or Main Phase 2 of your turn.
- You can only activate "Chaos Sorcerer"'s effect once in a turn.
- If "Chaos Sorcerer" attacks, you cannot use its effect during Main Phase 2. But if "Chaos Sorcerer" did not attack, you can activate its effect in Main Phase 2.
- If you select a face-up monster with "Chaos Sorcerer"'s effect, and your opponent chains "Book of Moon" to flip the monster face-down, then "Chaos Sorcerer"'s effect disappears. But even if "Chaos Sorcerer"'s effect disappears, its effect was activated so it cannot attack or activate its effect again.
- If "Chaos Sorcerer" attacks and the attack is negated with "Magic Cylinder", "Chaos Sorcerer" cannot activate its effect in Main Phase 2.
- If "Chaos Sorcerer" attacks and a replay occurs, and you decide not to attack again with "Chaos Sorcerer", you cannot activate "Chaos Sorcerer"'s effect in Main Phase 2.
