  • This card's attack name in the original Japanese is Cyber Energy Shock; Psychic Wave while its effect is known as Trap Search and Trap Crush. Its effect not only negated, but destroyed face-up and face-down Trap Cards on the field.

Battle City[]

  • In episode 58, Espa Roba uses this card during his Duel against Joey Wheeler. He Tribute Summons this card in Attack Position by Tributing Joey's "Swordsman of Landstar" (which Espa took control of via "Mind Control"). This card's effect then destroys Joey's set "Chasm of Spikes". In the next episode, Espa equips this card with "Amplifier", increasing this card's ATK to 2900. This card then attacks and destroys Joey's "Alligator's Sword". This card is unaffected by the effect of Joey's "Time Wizard"; this card's armor's made of a special alloy that's guaranteed not to age or corrode for ten-thousand years. This card then attacks and destroys Joey's "Thousand Dragon". On Espa's Standby Phase, "Amplifier" increases this card's ATK to 3200. This card and Espa's "Reflect Bounder" then attack and destroy two Sheep Tokens created from Joey's "Scapegoat". Joey then activates "Roulette Spider" to target this card and spin around like a roulette until Espa orders to stop. When Espa yells stop, this card points at "Reflect Bounder". Due to "Roulette Spider", this card attacks and destroys "Reflect Bounder". The effect of "Reflect Bounder" then destroys this card and inflicts the Battle Damage from the battle to Espa, thus winning Joey the Duel. Joey won this card from Espa as per Battle City's rules.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, Espa uses this card earlier during his Duel against Rex Raptor. He summons this through unknown means in Attack Position. Rex's "Serpent Night Dragon" attacks this card, but Espa activates "Mesmeric Control". This card then attacks and destroys "Serpent Night Dragon" (whose ATK is 1550 due to being weakened by "Mesmeric Control"), winning Espa the Duel.
  • In episode 63, Joey Wheeler uses this card during his Duel against Weevil Underwood. He Tribute Summons this card in Attack Position by Tributing his "Swordsman of Landstar". This card then attacks and destroys Weevil's "Flying Kamakiri #2". On Joey's next turn, this card attacks and destroys Weevil's set "Kiseitai", resulting in "Kiseitai" getting equipped onto this card. On Joey's next Standby Phase, the effect of "Kiseitai" increases Weevil's Life Points by half of this card's ATK. Joey then uses this card to attack and destroy Weevil's set "Skull-Mark Ladybug", resulting in the effect of "Skull-Mark Ladybug" increasing Weevil's Life Points by 500. On Joey's next Standby Phase, the effect of "Kiseitai" increases Weevil's Life Points by half of this card's ATK. This card is then Tributed for the effect of Joey's "Panther Warrior".
  • In episode 74, this card appears within a series of flashbacks that show all of Joey Wheeler's Duels during Battle City.
  • In episode 87, Joey Wheeler uses this card during his Duel against Odion. He activates "Foolish Burial" and "Graverobber" to send this card to Odion's Graveyard and Special Summon this card in Attack Position to his side of the field respectively. This card's effect then destroys Odion's "Embodiment of Apophis" (three copies). This card attacks Odion's directly alongside Joey's "Battle Warrior" and "Swordsman of Landstar". Odion then activates "Swords of Revealing Light" to prevent this card from attacking. Over the next three turns, this card is switched into Defense Position alongside Joey's "Insect Queen" and "The Legendary Fisherman". In the next episode, Odion's "Mystical Beast of Serket" attacks and destroys this card. "Mystical Beast of Serket" then gains ATK equal to the half of this card's ATK.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a series of flashbacks that Joey has when he notes to Odion that he has met many people on his way to the Battle City Finals and he kept fighting all the way no matter how grim the situation was.
    • In episode 89, this card appears in a series of flashbacks Odion has when he explains that "Mystical Beast of Serket" counts as three Tributes due to absorbing three of Joey's Monster Cards which was why he could Tribute "Mystical Beast of Serket" to Tribute Summon "The Winged Dragon of Ra".

Virtual World[]

  • In episode 108, Leichter uses this card as his Deck Master during his Duel against Seto Kaiba. He uses his Deck Master's ability to negate and destroy Kaiba's "Crush Card Virus". In the next episode, this card remains on the sidelines until the Duel is over.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card can be seen when Seto is building his Deck for his Duel against Leichter.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback explained by Leichter when he reminds Seto that his birthday gift from Gozaburo Kaiba was where all the mistakes made by Seto himself began. This card is the one Seto flips face-up during the flashback.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Leichter has when he explains to Seto that his treachery began when Gozaburo gave him a large amount of dollars to test Seto's business skills.
  • In episode 110, the four remaining Big Five members later tried to take the bodies of Joey, Duke and Serenity by force as defeating them in Duels proved to be useless. Joey quickly summons five Monster Cards to stall for time while he and his friends tried to get away on the truck. Leichter, as this card, destroys Joey's "Battle Warrior" and "Baby Dragon". After defeating Joey's Monster Cards, the Big Five went after the truck, but the gang are able to get the truck started and escape. Eventually the gang ends up in a desert and later crash where the Big Five can take the gang's bodies, but Noah Kaiba captures the four for questioning on their actions.
  • In episode 111, Leichter uses this card as his Deck Master during the Big Five's Duel against Yami Yugi and Joey Wheeler. In the next episode, Leichter uses his Deck Master to negate and destroy Joey's "Drop Off". Joey later Tribute Summons his own copy in Attack Position by Tributing his "Panther Warrior". Joey's copy's effect negates and destroys Leichter's "Gravity Bind". Joey's copy then attacks and destroys Leichter's "Injection Fairy Lily". In the following episode, the Big Five activates "Dragon Revival Ritual" to Tribute Leichter's Deck Master, Gansley's "Deepsea Warrior", Crump's "Nightmare Wheel", Johnson's "Judge Man" and Nezbitt's "Robotic Knight" in order to Ritual Summon "Five-Headed Dragon". The effect of the Big Five's "Five-Headed Dragon" then destroys Joey's copy and Yami Yugi's "Dark Magician Girl".
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card can be seen when Yami Yugi and Joey are building their Decks for their Duel against the Big Five.
    • In the third-above mentioned episode, Leichter briefly takes takes this card's form after the Big Five's defeat to retrieve a different body from Yami Yugi, Joey and their friends before being repelled back into Tristan's body.

Battle City Finals[]

  • In episode 122, Joey Wheeler is seen with this card during the Battle Royale between himself, Yami Yugi, Seto Kaiba and Yami Marik. This card is seen in his hand.
    • In episode 124, this card is shown in a flashback that Joey has when he remembers all the Duelists he faced on his way to the Battle City Finals.
  • In episode 125, Joey Wheeler uses this card during his Duel against Yami Marik. He has this card in his hand, but is forced to discard due to the effect of Yami Marik's "Helpoemer". In the next episode, Joey activates "Question" to make Yami Marik guess what the first Monster Card sent to his Graveyard which Yami Marik could not guess due to "Helpoemer". Joey then Special Summons this card from the Graveyard in Attack Position. This card's effect destroys Yami Marik's "Coffin Seller", "Nightmare Wheel" which frees Joey's "Rocket Warrior", as well as Yami Marik's set "Malevolent Catastrophe". This card then attacks and destroys Yami Marik's "Legendary Fiend" (who has 2200 ATK via its own effect). Yami Marik later Tributes this card and Joey's "Baby Dragon" in order to Special Summon "Lava Golem" to Joey's side of the Field.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Joey has when he remembers obtaining this card from Espa Roba during Battle City.
  • In episode 135, this card is seen in a series of flashbacks Yami Yugi has when he remembers the previous Duels that Joey went through in Battle City.
  • In episode 144, this card is shown when Téa Gardner and Serenity Wheeler go through a park. They see this card under the control of a kid Dueling another kid. The former-mentioned kid Tribute Summons this card by Tributing "Rocket Warrior". This card's effect activates, destroying the latter-mentioned kid's "Solemn Wishes". What happened next is unknown as the scene goes back to Téa and Serenity.

Waking the Dragons[]

  • In episode 159, this card is shown when Weevil Underwood and Rex Raptor are taken to a vault within Paradius's headquarters that contains copies of every mass-produced card.
  • In episode 170, Joey Wheeler uses this card during his Duel against Valon. He Tribute Summons this card in Attack Position by Tributing his "Battle Warrior". This card then attacks Valon's "Psychic Armor Head", but Valon uses his Armor Monsters' effect to redirect the attack to Valon's "Buster Knuckle" (which has 1900 ATK via its own effect and "The Seal of Orichalcos"), destroying "Buster Knuckle" instead. Valon's "Burning Knuckle" (which has 1700 ATK via its own effect and "The Seal of Orichalcos") then attacks this card. This card then destroys "Burning Knuckle", resulting in the effect of "Burning Knuckle" decreasing this card's ATK by the ATK of "Burning Knuckle". On his next turn, Joey uses this card to attack Valon's "Jet Gauntlet" which results in the effect of "Jet Gauntlet" destroying both battling Monster Cards at the start of the Damage Step without applying damage calculation.
  • In episode 182, Joey Wheeler uses this card to aide in the battle against The Great Leviathan. Yami Yugi, Joey and Seto Kaiba bring out three Monster Cards and the Legendary Dragons which are transformed into the three Legendary Knights. All the Monster Cards then attack The Great Leviathan. The Great Leviathan counterattacks, but Yami Yugi quickly has "Legendary Knight Timaeus" absorb the power of "Big Shield Gardna" to protect everyone which saves the chosen Duelists and the Legendary Knights, but doesn't save the chosen Duelists' other Monster Cards.

Grand Championship[]

  • In episode 186, the KC DuelTek 760 uses this card during its Duel against Yami Yugi using Rick's Deck. The computer Tribute Summons this card in Attack Position by Tributing its "Berserk Gorilla". This card's effect destroys Yami Yugi's "Robbin' Goblin". This card then attacks and destroys Yami Yugi's "The Dragon Dwelling in the Cave". On the computer's next turn, this card attacks and destroys Yami Yugi's "Baby Dragon". On the Duel's last turn, Yami Yugi's "Spirit Ryu" (whose ATK is 7000 due to six Dragon-type Monsters discarded in his graveyard) attacks and destroys this card, winning Yami Yugi the Duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX[]

This card uses its TCG/OCG effect.

  • In episode 17, this card appears in a flashback Damon has when he explains how his written exams were the best, but his draws in Duels were the worst. This card is shown in a flashback Duel that Damon had against an unknown student. This card was used by the unknown student. The result is not shown, but Damon lost since he drew "Fake Trap" which would be useless in helping him turn the duel in his favor.
  • In episode 84, a Slifer Red student uses this card during his Duel against Syrus Truesdale. He Tribute Summons this card by Tributing "Berserk Gorilla". Due to this card's effect, Syrus is not allowed to activate "Magic Cylinder" in his hand via the effect of "Jetroid". This card then attacks and destroys "Jetroid". On the Duel's last turn, Syrus's "Super Vehicroid - Stealth Union" attacks and destroys this card, winning Syrus the Duel.
  • In episode 111, this card briefly appears in one of the battles during the tournament hosted by Adrian Gecko. It is shown being used by a Ra Yellow Student during his Duel against another Ra Yellow Student.
  • In episode 164, Makoto Inotsume uses this card during his Duel against Syrus Truesdale. He sends this card from his Deck to the Graveyard in order to activate "Psychic Wave". After Makoto Tributes "Jinzo - Returner" in order to activate "Crush Card Virus", Makoto activates the second effect of "Jinzo - Returner" to Special Summon this card from his Graveyard. Due to this card's second effect, the effect of Syrus's "Rebirth Judgment" is negated. Later Makoto sends this card to the Graveyard in order to Special Summon "Jinzo - Lord".
    • In the same episode, this card is also shown when Makoto was practicing for his Duel against Syrus (though it and "Jinzo - Lord" are silhouetted off).
