Please Elaborate
I would like to know why exactly you think the template here is "unnecessary" and undid my edit. We have it on all of the Western Pacific names, so why not the Atlantic? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_storms_named_Vince&action=history Stareiglace (talk) 21:44, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Stareiglace: that template does not work in the Atlantic (nor in the Eastern Pacific) because the names are separated into six different lists and are not used sequentially as in the Western Pacific. Please do not re-add it unless some type of consensus is reached. CycloneYoris talk! 21:53, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Alright. Thanks for elaborating :) Stareiglace (talk) 22:44, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

Draft:Communication and Information Systems Groups (CIS)
Hi CycloneYoris,
I just added the sources for the article on the CIS groups, which you reversed into draft (wasn't ready yet). Can you return this back into actual article? Or can I revert it to myself, and do I use Move to "Wikipedia" or to "(Article)" ?
Draft:Communication and Information Systems Groups (CIS)
Thanks in advance, Drdefcom (talk) 16:46, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello Drdefcom. Yes, you can move it back to mainspace if you want, just make sure that you move it to "(Article)". CycloneYoris talk! 18:07, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
How do you move something to a draft?
You recently moved the Battle of Malaga (1673) to a draft. Which is good, because that battle never happend, but that same user published another article on the Siege of Hertogenbosch which also has severe problems. How do we move that to a draft? DavidDijkgraaf (talk) 20:17, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- @DavidDijkgraaf: Simply choose the "Draft" prefix from the "New title" drop-down menu that appears when performing a move. Here you can find a more detailed explanation on how to do it. CycloneYoris talk! 20:32, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: SamZone
Hello CycloneYoris, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted SamZone, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:49, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Ivanvector: Thank you! I'll go ahead and review it thoroughly before tagging more pages. CycloneYoris talk! 15:55, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't think this one was an obvious hoax (G3) but it was definitely spam (G11) so I used that button instead. Cheers. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:38, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, deleting it as spam (G11) was definitely the right call. Thanks again! CycloneYoris talk! 17:22, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

Hello, CycloneYoris,
You moved this article to Draft space but there was no notification of the page move on the article creator's talk page alerting them of this change. I encourage you to use User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft or User:Mr. Stradivarius/gadgets/Draftify which will provide these notices. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:09, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
- And the same lack of a notification happened when you draftified John Trembley. You also draftified that article NINE minutes after it was created after the article creator had made one edit to it (and they are an experienced editor). You draftified Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme SEVEN minutes after it was created. This is too soon. Please give content creators more time, like at least an hour, before you take action like draftifying or tagging an article for deletion, especially when dealing with articles created by experienced editors who usually don't start pages in Draft space. Liz Read! Talk! 02:12, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Liz: Sorry about that! The reason why I draftified the Shake, Rattle & Roll article was because the creator was not making any further edits to the page, though I do admit it was too soon, and I should've waited a while to see how the article would evolve. I'll be more careful with that in the future, and will definitely install one of the scripts that you've provided for notifying each page creator when moving a page to draft, or will do so manually with the help of Twinkle. Thank you. CycloneYoris talk! 02:55, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

November Articles for creation backlog drive
Hello CycloneYoris:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

Ken Davis
Can you help me understand what I need to do to fix this Ken Davis article? In the old days, we used to allow stubs because that's how articles took shape. Now, apparently, people are expecting fully-polished articles before others can start contributing. Cglenn3932 (talk) 19:04, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Cglenn3932: I would recommend adding more reliable sources in order to demonstrate the subject's notability (and possibly a bit more content). Though, in my opinion, I wouldn't have sent the page to draft; since you already provided some sources there and it did look like a valid stub. CycloneYoris talk! 19:18, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. My challenge is that this is an African American businessman and historical prejudice led to his life being less documented than less-notable contemporaries. Will others still be able to find the stub and help build it or are drafts kind of hidden from others who might want to contribute? Cglenn3932 (talk) 16:04, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Cglenn3932: Yes, others are still able to access the draft and can help you out if they wish to do so. The good thing about having an article in draftspace is that you have no pressure to finish the article and you can take all the time you need to complete it, without any risk of it getting deleted.
