G11?
[edit]Hi CycloneYoris, do you think that Swagger Sharma is bad enough to qualify for G11? I came across it while doing reference copyediting on the bus so I don't have more than a few minutes to look into it, but I see that you tagged another article by the same editor – which was deleted – as G11 a few days ago. It's pretty promotional, the one sentence I checked wasn't supported by the cited source, and the sources mostly look trashy, but I don't do much CSD tagging so I don't really know where the boundary lies. Thanks, Wham2001 (talk) 07:42, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Wham2001. The structure of the article looks decent, in my opinion, and it doesn't appear to be as bad as to qualify for G11. But perhaps sending to AfD should do the trick. The previous article you've mentioned had no sources (only external links scattered throughout the article), and because of this, it was a clear G11 candidate. CycloneYoris talk! 08:03, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- OK, thanks – that makes sense. I will do a BEFORE and decide whether to AfD it this evening. Best, Wham2001 (talk) 11:31, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
2024 in animation deletion of new Event under Specific date unknown
[edit]Hello @CycloneYoris, thank you for your dedication.
On September 13, you deleted an edit I made to the 2024 in animation page under the Events > Specific date unknown section. Your concern was about missing a reliable source.
However, I believe that a source would not be necessary, as the information I added does not fall under any of the following: "All quotations, any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, and contentious material [...] about living persons"[1] (taken from the documentation you provided).
Furthermore, the 2024 in animation page is generally missing citations for most of its entries. I'm not saying it as an excuse, it just seems to be more lax on that page.

Reminder to slow down :)
[edit]Hi, CycloneYoris! I was checking articles for NPP and noticed you had nominated Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea for deletion via A3. However, at the time you nominated it, the article was only two minutes old. As such, I just wanted to stop by and remind you that, per WP:NPPHOUR, "unless there are serious content problems" (i.e., CV, attack, or blatant vandalism), editors should "wait at least an hour before nominating an article for deletion". I know I sometimes move a little too quickly, so I understand how easy it can be to forget to check all your steps. :) Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 04:18, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Significa liberdade! I tagged the page as A3 because it was an exact recreation of a page that was deleted just yesterday by Pickersgill-Cunliffe (which was also deleted under A3), and that's the reason why I rushed to tag it since I noticed that the page was exactly the same. The author is behaving in a disruptive manner since they removed the CSD tag without explanation, even though they've received several warnings on their talk page; and they also didn't explain why they recreated the page in the first place. CycloneYoris talk! 05:32, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion: Paradise Lost (Inal Bilsel album)
[edit]Hi, CycloneYoris! I wanted to let you know that I declined your A9 speedy deletion nomination of Paradise Lost (Inal Bilsel album) as there may be a claim of importance/significance. Declined speedy deletion: Sunita Gogoi
[edit]Hi there! I wanted to let you know that I declined your G4 speedy deletion nomination of Sunita Gogoi as the current article includes sources published since the page was deleted, and Gogoi has had more roles since the deletion. If you think the article she is still a non-notable actor, I suggest bringing the article to AfD. Thank you! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 19:05, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, Significa liberdade! Not sure why I tagged it, since the sources are clearly new. I'll see if I decide to take the article back to AfD. Thank you for taking your time to notify me of this. Cheers. CycloneYoris talk! 01:56, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

Difference between draft and afc draft
[edit]Hey. I noticed that when I look at some drafts I see this template:
This is a draft article. It is a work in progress open to editing by anyone. Please ensure core content policies are met before publishing it as a live Wikipedia article. Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL Last edited by CycloneYoris (talk | contribs) 0 seconds ago. (Update)
Finished drafting? or |
In the article spaces. Why can we just publish these instead of going through the submission process, and how is different from the normal AfC review template?
thanks,
Cooldudeseven7 (Cheers! Let's Discuss over a cup of tea!) 17:09, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Cooldudeseven7: Both are essentially the same thing. The difference is that an AfC draft cannot be published to mainspace without being accepted by a reviewer, while a normal draft can be published (i.e. moved) by anyone regardless if it has been reviewed or not. CycloneYoris talk! 04:31, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- so, why do some get the normal draft template? Cooldudeseven7 (Cheers! Let's Discuss over a cup of tea!) 11:14, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Cooldudeseven7: Probably because the normal draft template is added manually, while the AfC one is added with the help of a script. CycloneYoris talk! 20:42, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- so, why do some get the normal draft template? Cooldudeseven7 (Cheers! Let's Discuss over a cup of tea!) 11:14, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

Important Question
[edit]I just looked at the user creation log and saw a new account, user:CooperSnyder787878 In the user creation log, it is written that his "other email" was blocked on wikipedia and therefore he created a new account. Fostered content
[edit]I edited User:CycloneYoris/Barnstars because it was listed at Lint errors: Fostered content. Fostered content is displayable content within a table structure that isn't in a table cell. "Diddy Parties" article
[edit]Hello CycloneYoris, I'm 123drthy, the accidental editor of the Diddy Parties article. I would like to clarify that I (the primary owner of this account" was not the person who contributed to the Diddy Parties article. I'm in high school, so my friends and I were playing the Wiki Game, and we jokingly made it to the "White Party" article. There, one of my friends stole my computer, clicked on the red hyperlink "Diddy Parties," and added inappropriate comments in the newly created "Diddy Parties" article. I would like to apologize on behalf of their reckless behavior. I kindly request that you delete the "Diddy Parties" article, and I apologize for my friends' behavior, which I acknowledge was on my account.
From, 123drthy
P.S. Please tell the Wikipedia mods it was an accident and I didn't create the "Diddy Parties" article. 123drthy (talk) 22:54, 7 November 2024 (UTC)

Concerto cat
[edit]Hi CycloneYoris.
Do you consider the content of the article Concerto cat to be factual or credible? Ehrenkater (talk) 09:54, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Ehrenkater. Nope, and that's the reason why I tagged it under criterion WP:A11 as it appears to be entirely made up. CycloneYoris talk! 09:57, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Noted. It just seems odd to reinstate content and then immediately request that it be deleted.---Ehrenkater (talk) 10:01, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- I reinstated the content because there's nothing to be gained by blanking the page, the title still needs to be deleted, and it cannot be tagged as a blank page unless the author does the blanking. CycloneYoris talk! 10:05, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

G14 Clarification
[edit]Hello, just looking for a bit of clarification on the G14 criteria for speedy deletion - I saw you state when declining a nom I made that it requires the title end in (disambaguation), but I was under the impression this was only if the article linked to a single wiki page.
Per the wording on the NPR tool;
Unnecessary disambiguation page
This only applies to disambiguation pages which "either": (1) disambiguate only one existing Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or (2) disambiguate no (zero) existing Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
I took this to mean that an article purpoting to disambiguate to a number of terms, none of which have pages, did not need (disambiguation) in the title?
Best, CoconutOctopus talk 23:58, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- @CoconutOctopus: You're absolutely right, and I actually thought that titles needed to end in "(disambiguation)" for this criterion to apply, and missed the part that states:
Regardless of title, disambiguation pages that disambiguate zero extant Wikipedia pages.
Apologies for removing the CSD tag. Will revert my removal immediately. CycloneYoris talk! 00:08, 17 November 2024 (UTC)- Haha, no worries! I've gone ahead and changed it back. CoconutOctopus talk 00:10, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Well, I have decided to use my own words, but I am getting a bit fed up with people adding the template about lack of sources to articles which anyone with reasonable eyesight can see do have sources, as you recently did. PatGallacher (talk) 02:11, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- @PatGallacher: Still, the article needs more sources. Telling someone to "use your eyes" is not very nice and counts as a personal attack in my book. Please remember to assume good faith, I'm just trying to help out here. CycloneYoris talk! 02:27, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
