Wikifunctions:Requests for deletions
Functions or implementations or tests which do not work properly, do not meet notability criteria or are duplicates of another object can be deleted. Please nominate items for deletions under the "Requests for deletion" section below.
If it is obvious vandalism, just report it in Wikifunctions:Report vandalism, or ping an administrator. Contact can also be made with an administrator on Telegram or IRC #wikipedia-abstract.
If it is a predefined object (it's ZID is less than 10000), please see Wikifunctions:Report a technical problem.

This system does not work. --Ameisenigel (talk) 14:45, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- It does you guys just keep reverting it, have a look at MediaWiki:Create-object in French or something. Amir's computer was just broken. Feeglgeef (talk) 16:37, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- Or now MediaWiki:Ip-cannot-edit in English or Arabic or Spanish (translated) or some other language (not translated). Feeglgeef (talk) 17:09, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- In that case it would be a security issue because it would allow any registered user to edit the interface of Wikifunctions. --Ameisenigel (talk) 20:05, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- That's just something that is inevitable with translations, we do that with the Main Page and Site notice as well. Feeglgeef (talk) 06:12, 8 February 2025 (UTC)

- As I already wrote in a couple of places, the best solution is to put those messages in an extension that is translatable on translatewiki. It was already done for Wikidata and many other features. It addresses security issues, too. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:18, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Happy to support deletion if you can actually get that done, this is a fine interim solution, and removing the existing solution and figuring out a new one later is a bad idea. Feeglgeef (talk) 17:33, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- It's not a fine interim solution because it doesn't work. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 01:06, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- It sure looks like it works? Feeglgeef (talk) 01:23, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- When it was actually in the sidebar, it didn't work, and it broke the whole sidebar.
- Does it work anywhere now? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 20:55, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- It does (and always has) for me. Feeglgeef (talk) 20:57, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Does it work in a way that other people can see? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 21:01, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, I've attached an image. Feeglgeef (talk) 22:55, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Is this used anywhere? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 00:32, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, whenever you are logged out and attempt to edit a page one of them shows. Feeglgeef (talk) 03:49, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- I've just tried editing a page while logged out in Spanish user interface, and I don't see it. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 12:43, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Amire80 It actually works. I have tried it, you may have a cache issue --Mohanad (talk) 13:51, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- I see the translated page, too. What I don't see is this string as an actual message in context. Try the link from my previous message while you are logged out. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 17:28, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Amire80 I thought you meant the translated page. No, it's not working. -Mohanad (talk) 18:09, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

- Delete per nom. Make sure to delete all the translated pages and remove the page from translation. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 17:40, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- Comment As an open source extension for everyone, I support having translation within the extension's interface on translatewiki. This makes it easier for any future use of this extension. --Mohanad (talk) 16:50, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- It sounds like everyone is agreed that this is the best way forward. What needs to be done to start it? 99of9 (talk) 04:29, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
Z22722 and Z22723
abstract indef noun phrase (Z22722): no description duplicate of mine of Indefinite noun phrase (Z22664): génère une phrase nominale indéfinie à partir d'un nom et d'un adjectif via les lexèmes Wikidata, dans une langue donnée. Also the test a Danish author (Z22723): no description can be deleted. Request deletion. --Denny (talk) 17:13, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- Not opposed, but can’t we just re-purpose Z22722? It has such a pretty ZID! GrounderUK (talk) 14:05, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
No implementations or tests, should be uncontroversial. 256BitLimit (Z22715) seems to be a js impl. of the former but in form of a string, better be deleted and created from fresh if wanted. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 12:27, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
(!) inverse sine (Z12505), (!) inverse hyperbolic sine (Z12509), (!) inverse hyperbolic cosine (Z12500), (!) inverse cosine (Z12497), (!) cosine (Z12473), (!) sine (Z16463), (!) tangent (Z16475)
Functions with incorrect input and output type (there are functions with correct type). I am not sure whether we should keep them. GZWDer (talk) 12:41, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
