The Supersonic Bulblax is a close relative of the Fiery Bulblax in Pikmin: The After Years that is veiled in electricity rather than fire. It accomplishes this by generating an electric pulse that covers its body, in a similar manner to the Puffy Blowhog, but much more powerful: the result is a deadly predator crackling with violent electricity. Yellow Pikmin are necessary to defeat a Supersonic Bulblax.

The Anode Bulblax is a grub-dog appearing in Pikmin: Other Frontier and a close relative of the Fiery Bulblax. The hide of an Anode Bulblax is covered in yellow barb-like hairs as opposed to flowing red wax, and these barbs are used to produce a protective electric field to defend the creature from would-be attackers. Because of this, they are one of the deadliest and most dangerous creatures encountered, and Yellow Pikmin are the only Pikmin type that can attack it. Fortunately, Anode Bulblaxes are rather slow, making them easier to target with Yellow Pikmin. However, they have a nasty bite, and so it is unwise for leaders alone to attack them.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This grub-dog has some similarities to the hairy bulborb due to both being the only furred grub-dogs. However, while the hairy bulborb uses its fur to warm itself, the anode bulblax uses its fur to conduct static electricity, allowing itself to create a protective field of electricity.”
Louie's cooking tips
- “Peel the skin of this beast to avoid any sudden electrical blasts. Then dry the organs in the sun and grind the results with salt and pepper. Makes a zesty spice as a result.”
