It was ok. Some laughs. A lot of rinse and repeat. Stephanie doesn't want to shoot her gun. She's torn between Joe and Ranger. Yada, yada, yada.

Lula and grandma Mazur hijinks are worth some giggles.
Bottom line: if you are looking for something light to read, then this is fine. But you probably won't be able to recount the plot in 6 months if someone asks you what book is about....more
I was seeing some people buzzing about the book on Twitter and so I checked Netgalley, saw thaReview to come closer to pub date in Jan.
Quick Thoughts:
I was seeing some people buzzing about the book on Twitter and so I checked Netgalley, saw that it was still available for request and waited to see if I would be approved.
When I started this book, I wasn't exactly blown away. But I kept on and I began to suspect some parts of the plot. But the way that Mindy Meija revealed the parts of the plot that I suspected was what made me love the book. She even threw a twist or 2 in there and a turn of the knife (so to speak)!
Bottom line: This book has a lot going for it. Good read!...more
This has more of a suspense-y feel than Kimberly's previous books ( which I like) There is a mystery-Review to come closer to pub date
Quick thoughts:
This has more of a suspense-y feel than Kimberly's previous books ( which I like) There is a mystery- and the mystery has layers.
There is also a question of nature vs nurture and it's interesting to see Iris, a school psychologist, begin to understand on the deepest level as she slowly begins to unwind all her husband's secrets.
Quick thoughts: Very sweet book with a reminder about living your life to the fullest and being open to love. And that while everyReview to come later.

Kristan Higgins won my heart with her Blue Heron series and I have been enjoying her women's fiction Review to come closer to pub date.
Quick Thoughts:
Kristan Higgins won my heart with her Blue Heron series and I have been enjoying her women's fiction books.
On Second Thought has many themes running through it: family, relationship issues, deciding who you are, not settling, and coming to terms with yourself and your role in family and in life.
At times, it's predictable about how some things will play out, but Kristan still manages to throw a few curveballs in the lives of her characters. Characters are fleshed out and enjoyable. While I'm still deciding who my favorite character is- I'm leaning toward Ainsley.
Bottom line: If you are a fan of Kristan Higgins from her Blue Heron series- you'll enjoy On Second Thought. New to Kristan? Sit down a spell and enjoy a story of two sisters and the mess and greatness of their lives. ...more
I liked the plot line quite a bit ( I'm a sucker for a good rom-com and a HEA ending).
The cReview to come soon.

Prob more a 3.5 star.
I liked the plot line quite a bit ( I'm a sucker for a good rom-com and a HEA ending).
The characters- well some I liked, some I wished would take a long walk off a short bridge and others I changed my mind about 2 or 3 times in the book.

I was hoping this would be more of a Sarah Knight's style book with huReview to come closer to pub date.
Quick thoughts: Probably more a 3.5 star book.
I was hoping this would be more of a Sarah Knight's style book with humor and useful points. Useful points were def a-plenty in the book, but it was def more of a self-help without the humor book.
I liked the 20/10 plan and Rachel made excellent points about the many stages of trying to have a clean house ( and the many stages of potential people you live with.)
All in all, if you are looking for motivation- here is a book that you should check out. ...more
A recurring theme in this book is letting go and knowing you raised your kid right or you areReview to come near pub date in Feb 2017.
Quick thoughts:
A recurring theme in this book is letting go and knowing you raised your kid right or you are providing enough for your child. There is a little jokey fun at the helicopter moms of now and a reminder that love and all the possibilities of the world are out there if you just remain open!
For fans of earlier Mischief Bay books, you'll be excited to see Pam back and how she is handling life. Plus mentions of Shannon and Nicole.

Quick thoughts: I love me some Fina. She's strong. Opinionated. And caring. Her family is a mess of hot tempered personalities and shark like behavior, but Fina tries to what is morally right even if she has to bend the rules of law to get there.
Ingrid Thoft kept me flipping pages as fast as I could to see how this case and Fina's family drama was going to work out. Loved it and now can't wait for the next chapter! ...more
