Dark. Almost as dark as Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. Good book. First I've read by Lisa G and while obviously there is backstory to DD and crew ( since this is a series) I wasn't really lost or bogged down in backstory details, etc.
Def not a book to read before bed.
