This book is the definition of unhinged, but in the best way. Every time I thought I had it figured out, the author would throw in a huge twist that at times, had my jaw dropping. These characters were all a bit cray cray, albeit some way more than others. The house in this story feels larger than life, as does the property it sits on. The eeriness Iris feels definitely comes across loud and clear to the reader, and it’s that atmospheric nature that makes this one so fun.
Is it a little over the top at times? Yes. But was it hella fun? Definitely. This is the popcorn thriller you won’t want to put down. Even better, check out the audio helmed by Emily Lawrence and Ashley Klanac. Their narration took the creepy vibes up a notch or three.

Set in one of my favorite places on earth during my absolute favorite season, this super cute romance with emotional depth was just what I was craving in my post holiday blahs. While the story took the ultimate journey of your typical romance, there are some crazy fun twists that make this story unique, as well as a few wholly relatable characters who could exist off the page as easily as on it. And while this book is closed door/low spice, it is not short on swoon-worthy romance or character chemistry.

But Catherine CowleThere are some thriller writers who attempt to inject romance into their work, and romance authors who try to dabble in thrillers. But Catherine Cowles has done the remarkable here - created a true romantic thriller where not one genre nor the other steals the show.
While there are significant amounts of romance in this one, the missing person cases were incredibly engaging and very eerie, and as we follow Ridley as she uncovers more and more details about what may have happened to her sister, the thriller vibes ran deep. But just as things feel a little too creepy for comfort, Cowles leads us right back to the fun grumpy x sunshine romance involving the local hottie sheriff, providing the perfect juxtaposition to the more serious.
I’m not the first person to say this, but I have to agree that this is Cowles best book yet. And if you are a fan of audiobooks, I’d suggest that route given the podcast nature and the fan favorite narrators, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York.

This is my first book by Megan Collins, but I can say for sure, it will not be my last. A wild ride from start to finish, with vivid and intriguing characters and a really fun format, I could not put this book down. My favorite part - the midway mark when Collins turns everything on its head.

No one writes angsty, emotional romance like Jennifer Hartmann does and this book is no exception. I knew this book was going to hurt almost immediately, and that it did - but in the best way. I could not put it down.
Melody and Parker’s connection was so intense, it was hard not to root for them, regardless of how incredibly difficult their situation was. And as the layers of each character are peeled back slowly but surely, you cannot help but feel connected to them as individuals as well. This is one I won’t soon forget.
