the appreciation i have for the friends i have in my life has just been multiplied. female friendship is the baseline for everything; romance is lovely but without your friends what are you supposed to do? feeling very grateful and warm.
at times, i would wonder "why this person?" or think "this is just life, nothing too special to be in a memoir" but i feel like that was kind of the point. i would find myself laughing and crying and then both? dolly reminded me that the simplicities in life are as important as the complexities, but the relationships we have with the people we love make each experience even better. even if some of those experiences are solo. anyway! what a lovely book.
p.s. this was an interesting experience for me because i felt that i identified with being the farley of the friendship so hearing dolly's side had me feeling very insightful. inquires to talk about that with me will be taken (lol kidding but not really idk i like to talk about books). dolly feels so different from me, but i still found myself relating and feeling like she was speaking to me. ...more

This was super cute!!! I was immediately drawn in to this story and was very pleased with how everything ended. I loved the ADHD and autism representation from Sam. I do love a second chance romance so I was FOR IT! Their miscommunication actually was realistic so it didn't bother me so yay for that. Also *blushes* I did enjoy the spice.
Give this sweet little small town romance a read when it releases on October 4, 2024! ...more

I thought this was super cute! I loved how there was more than romance involved in the story, but the romance was wonderful hehe. The MCs were sooo cute and I was literally cheering for them forever. I liked the small town alt-universe setting and that self-discovery played in important role for the characters. Very eye opening to remember that your passions are important and trying new things doesn't take away from who you know yourself to be!!
I would love to see a sequel or something with Emma (view spoiler)[ and having her figure out that she knows Cam (hide spoiler)]
Totally recommend for a cutesy quick romance when this releases Feb 11, 2025!!...more

anyway i highly recommend!!! sapphic romances for the win!!!...more

I thought I had been looking forward to reading this... but it was honestly an eyeroll from the beginning. They kept saying that there was "undeniable chemistry" but was the chemistry even in the room with us? By the end, the couple was cute but it was still cringe and felt forced. The best part was the rounds of trying to declare names for Wendy's triplets. I feel like we lost the plot of finding the necklace for the middle 40% of the book.. and then it was like oh right! And the answer is right here! Let's go on this wild adventure and admit our true feelings and almost die and then live happily ever after!
I wish I could have liked this more. Every time I picked it up to read I didn't want to. By the time I got like 50% in I wanted to DNF so badly but wanted to stick it out. I'm glad I did, the ending wasn't Horrible I just was wildly disappointed in this book. ...more

2.5 -- thank you to NetGalley for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review
Dragon Den follows Markus, a student dragon rider, who is given a miss2.5 -- thank you to NetGalley for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review
Dragon Den follows Markus, a student dragon rider, who is given a mission to infiltrate a clan that is hijacking semi-trucks that are transporting obsidian in order to keep his given dragon and remain at the Dragild Military Academy. In the midst of his mission, he fall for the clan leader's daughter (who also happens to be the girl of his dreams).
I love the idea of dragons and humans being paired and becoming a team together, but I felt like this universe just didn't make sense to me. I couldn't tell what time period we were in, how fantastical this world was, and I think it was because the plot was underdeveloped. I honestly don't remember the first time the plan got explained to Markus. I think this was too fast paced and did not provide enough world building for this to feel really interesting. I am newer to dragon-type fantasy, but I didn't love this one.
I didn't really feel connected to the characters. I kept confusing Tobias and Jonas and I felt like the way all of their dynamics/relationships developed and shifted was too quick. I also didn't love the main couple that much... they just didn't have the chemistry the author was trying to give them. I also just feel like Markus was written to be this cool guy but at the same time a mega loser? Idk, he just wasn't that great. I liked Loki, but again, I just didn't really get connected to him.
I just thought this was boring, however I don't know if I was the market for the book since it WAS described as being inspired by The Fast and The Furious, Fourth Wing, and How to Train Your Dragon (all of which I have never seen or read)....more

a thousand sunsets is a dual pov romance that follows sidney and zach when they meet for the first time on the annual murphy family vacation. the murphy family has a great rapport with the campsite and the lifeguards, and zach is their newest addition! we get to see sidney and zach be absolutely smitten with each other, meanwhile sharing their hopes and dreams with one another, all while trying to stay away from the meddling cousins.
THIS WAS SO CUTE! i went into this SUPER excited, but i will admit i was a little bit nervous in the beginning. this reads like a debut novel particularly in the beginning, but i was sucked in anyway. sometimes the insta love trope doesn't work, but here it really did! with the nature of the story being that sidney had a week for her vacation, the love at first sight and insta love was fun! i loved how easily sidney and zach connected and their adventures were so cute and something that i would find fun if i were just getting to know someone. i also want to mention how EXTREMELY grateful i am for the bi x bi representation we had going!!!! i want more of this!!!!
this was very easy to read and while some of it was corny, it was all extremely enjoyable. i was crying in the last few chapters, too! i hope that if you like a nice summer romance with a good handful of spice, that you purchase and read this when it releases on may 21, 2024!!! happy reading!!
