Its all drama with h and her family and I felt romance took backseat. It was too slow burn and not in a good way cuz I did not feel any tension or chemistry- for it to be present the H and h need to appear in the book but they hardly do and barely interact. I am sure things pick up in romance department after 60% but come on this is romance after all. If they haven't touched each other apart from a kiss in the beginning - how was this enjoyable? Also did not find Lachlan alpha or strong. I thought being the big bro he would be a take charge guy but he was not chasing Lark at all. ...more

Anyway I don't read mafia rom for creative plots but still its irritating sometimes. This one is slightly less disappointing then scandalous kingpin as their is chemistry and connection shown between these MCs. But the rest of book with mafia business was not handled well. I felt everything happens in the last 1/4th of the book and not enough time with their kid and MCs was shown. But I love the epilogues with future kids etc......more

The Not so Good: -After the initial meet and wedding etc the story really dragged until the last 40 pages. There wasn't a lot happening and it became a bit boring in middle -The repetitive thoughts of h wanting to leave all the time got to be irritating -I wish the H wasn't so opposed to love, I mean he was obsessed and caught feelings but was in denial until the end of book - There was a breeding kink but no follow through?! don't give readers a trope and then nothing -Why can't the authors give proper epilogue? tired of signing up for extended epilogues,ugh. Give me some babies darn-it!

Plus how is the H OTT J/p if he was ok letting twin be with h? or not wanting to kill him because of it? I wish it was a bipolar disorder kinda thing because the unknown cheating aspect ruined the experience for me. The time jumps and the time it takes for them to finally be together is too long and the dubiousness of it all was a turn off. I want all in and I want it quick ;) The story was very fast paced and I was not bored. The h was a badass but soft at the same time and H was alpha strong but not OTT as I would have liked him to be. Overall not bad. Will go for the next book.
