ONcE More in '24 - November

The 3rd of each month is a special day here on my blog - it's the day that Kelly (the founder of this series), Barb, and I share our One Plus Twelve cards. The idea is to use the same ONE stamp (not a set) each month to create a card. Sentiments can be used, too, if we choose.

My ONE stamp this year is a beautiful floral (a very large one) from the Altenew Pristine Peonies stamp set.

This month I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolor the image. I found it to be very relaxing, although I definitely need practice on watercoloring.

I hope you'll keep an eye out on the 3rd of each month to see how I do with this ONE stamp this year. You'll also be able to see Barb's and Kelly's cards on Instagram as well as their blogs...

SCS Sketch #SC1026

I find that having a sketch to use can get my creative ideas flowing, so I love being part of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge team. There is a new sketch to work with every Wednesday. I encourage you to check them out.

Here's this week's sketch - SC1026:

It's always acceptable to tweak the sketch a wee bit and make it your own (there are no SCS police), so that's what I did.

Here's the Inside:

I hope you'll use the sketch to make a card, too.

CYS Sunflowers

One of my favorite challenge groups is the Challenge Your Stash group on SCS, under the capable and organized leadership of my friend Barb. The idea is we can't shop for anything when making our monthly challenge card (which we post on the 28th of each month).

I'm a day late this month since I had another obligation on my blog yesterday.

We take turns choosing the theme. This month it was Suzy's turn. She challenged us to use Sunflowers (or any yellow flower) on our cards.

I hope Suzy, Barb and the other Challenge Your Stash gals like my card.

CYS Something That Flies

One of my favorite challenge groups is the Challenge Your Stash group on SCS, under the capable and organized leadership of my friend Barb. The idea is we can't shop for anything when making our monthly challenge card (which we post on the 28th of each month).

We take turns choosing the theme. This month it was Maggie's turn. She challenged us to use an image of a fairy or something that flies. I am so thankful she included the phrase "or something that flies" as I don't like fairies nor own any fairy stamps that I am aware of. I remember years and years ago, one of the on-going swaps I was in (Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards) had a fairy theme and I had a rough time figuring out how to make that work.

But I digress.

The point of this blog post is to share the something that flies card that I made. Birds!

These bird stamps were actually part of the swag bag of goodies that I received when I attended Barb's retreat in April. Rubbernecker (who is now Brass & Bliss) donate a LOT of stamps and we each were blessed to receive 10+ of them. Such generosity!!!

I tried something a bit different with my Hello die. I cut the pieces out using paint samples. The teal background cut fun, but the yellow hello did not. I ended up tossing the hello and cutting it again with a scrap of yellow cardstock.

I had so much fun making this card and hope Maggie, Barb and the other Challenge Your Stash gals like my card.

Circle of Friends - July Anything Goes

Earlier this month (on the 8th) I mentioned that I'd joined the Circle of Friends swap group on Facebook. I shared the card I made for one of two of the card swaps they posted this month. Today I'm sharing the other one.

Theme: Anything Goes

I used the Altenew Seasonal Blooms set that I recently purchased because I loved the card my friend Terry made with it at the No Foolin' Retreat in April. Terry is such an enabler!

I hope my swap partner likes my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Stamp/Stencil: Altenew Seasonal Blooms stamped with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink, colored (ink blending) with Taylored Expressions Inks (Cinnamon, Granny Smith, Lemon Meringue, Lime Zest, Lollipop, Mango, and Strawberry Milkshake), and softly outlined using an Olo Marker

Papers: Hamilco 120# White and a card base left over from a SU Paper Pumpkin Kit

Dies: MFT Stitched Rectangles and Whimsy Quick Strips

I Am In Your Corner

Kelly, Barb, and I have been creating together as the Three Musketeers every month since November 2014. We all three create a card using the same image. I always enjoy seeing how different our cards are, even though we use the same image. This is one of my favorite posts of the month.

We take turns choosing what stamp will be used. This month it was my turn. I chose the Gerda Steiner Designs In Your Corner set.

I can't wait to see what Barb and Kelly did with it.

Be sure to check out Barb's and Kelly's cards, too...
