What's for Dinner, Mom?

Yesterday I showed you two cards that I made with the Stampin' UP! Bareback set that my friend Lorie gave me. Today's card is made with another image from that same set.

This is the inside of my card:

This is the 34th card I've made for the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge.

Bareback Friend

My online friend Lorie knew how badly I wanted the old Stampin' UP! Bareback stamp set so I could make some cards to send to my sister, who loves horses.............. so Lorie sent me her set. Wasn't that sweet!?!?! THANK YOU, Lorie!

I had fun creating a few cards.

Here's one of them:

This is the inside of my card:

This second card is VERY similar:

I like it better than the first one, though.

The inside is the same, except I added a brad to the quote...

These two cards are my 32nd and 33rd cards in the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge.

I am a Salt Addict

It's true! I love salt. I know a lot of people say it's not healthy - but since my blood pressure is always fabulous, I don't fret about it too much.

You might also find it interesting to know that my dad is what they call a "salt user" which means his body uses salt in excess. Therefore his doctor has advised him to eat a lot of salt. Do you suppose I can use that excuse the next time I pick up the salt shaker and shake liberally?

Speaking of salt shaker... this is NOT a good story!

In the Stamp Addicts blog group we like to try new techniques; you know - stretch ourselves creatively speaking. So this month, Darlene suggested we try the Salted Background technique. If you aren't familiar with it, you can find a tutorial on SCS by clicking here. That being said, don't be fooled into thinking that everyone is capable of doing this technique, because obviously I failed miserably. My first attempt at the salt background turned out MUCH TOO FAINT, so I made another one. My second attempt turned out HORRIBLE - muddled colors, UGLY!!!

Sooooooooo I tried a third time. When it turned out almost as bad as the second one, I decided this just must not be my technique. LOL! So I took my feeble attempt and made a card with it.

I've searched for a challenge to enter it in - you know, something like "UGLIEST CARD OF THE CENTURY" Challenge, but haven't been successful. So I'm just going to post it here on my blog.

I'd like to say this looks better in real life.
It doesn't.(Drats!)

This is the inside of my card:

Darlene, I'm sorry this turned out so bad. I really wanted to succeed. But like you said, this is a TRY a new Technique challenge... and I did TRY!

This is my 31st card for the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge.

It's A Holiday,...

... well, sort of! ;)

This is the 28th of January. The 28th of EVERY month is the day that the Calendar Girls blog group has a little challenge. I am "Miss January" (Brrr!) which means I got to choose the theme for this month.

Here it is:

If you’ve ever been any of the swap threads that I participate in, you know that I like holidays, normal ones, weird one, funny ones. EVERY day is worth a celebration. So, for this month’s Calendar Girl challenge, I want you to select a holiday that is CLOSE TO your own birthday and make a card for that holiday.

I was born in October, so I needed to find a holiday from October - I chose an October 18th holiday (which happens to be my parents' anniversary, BTW)...

National Chocolate Cupcake Day

Here's the card I made:

You can find the links to the other Calendar Girl Blogs in my left side bar, or scroll down to the end of this blog post and I'll have links to them.

This card is also for the new {PIN}Spirational Challenge.

I Have a Secret

Tee Hee! Aren't secrets fun???

First, here's the front of the card I made for today...

Other than the cardstock, the elements on this card came from remnants of some card kits I used earlier this week.

Are you ready for the secret?

While there's no image/stamping on the front of the card, there is a cute image inside...

It's Riley!

This is my 29th card for the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge.

Snowman Family

I may not like the cold weather we've been having, but I sure like making snowmen and winter cards.

Isn't this the cutest snowman family ever?
It's a Dilly Bean digital image.

Here's the inside of my card:

The image inside is another Dilly Bean digital image. The sentiment came out of a card kit that I used earlier this week.

I'm entering this card in the following challenge:

Digi Haven - Snow Buddies

It is also my 28th card for the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge.

There was also a little bag of embellishments - including buttons, brads, dew drops, ribbon, and more.
