Dark Taranza is an enemy that is encountered after the main game of Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. He is a dark reflection of Taranza, and fights in much the same way, though he is considerably more powerful. He was born from the darkness in Taranza's heart after gazing into the Black Mirror.[1]
Overview[edit]
Dark Taranza is fought as part of Tougher: The Final Battle in the Decisive Battlefield, and is unlocked after Parallel Landia is defeated.
Compared to other enemies in the Decisive Battlefield region, Dark Taranza is not particularly strong, but just like his normal counterpart, he is capable of some energy-based attacks, and can web Team Kirby up. Unlike most enemies, however, he is only fought in one phase.
Once Dark Taranza is defeated, he brings back the Black Mirror, and uses it to call upon his master, King D-Mind. Once the king of darkness is summoned, however, he immediately dispatches Dark Taranza using his hammer, shattering him into countless shards, and presumably destroying him for his incompetence.

| Super Dark Taranza Ball | Dark Taranza flies into the background, then conjures and tosses a giant energy orb into the arena, which he does either to the left or right. The orb bounces across the stage for a while before dissipating. |
| Magic Field | Dark Taranza conjures an orb of energy around himself, then flies forward twice. |
| Dark Taranza Ball | Dark Taranza charges and releases a series of dark energy orbs which spread out somewhat after firing. He does this attack twice; the first time he fires the orbs slowly, the second time has him fire the orbs at a fast speed. |
| Dark Taranza Web Hold | Dark Taranza flies into the background, then readies his aim toward a random Kirby target. After pointing towards one of the Kirbys six times, he then casts a large magic net at that Kirby. Any players trapped repeatedly take damage and need to either mash buttons to escape or rely on other Kirbys to destroy the webbing. If successful, Dark Taranza will fall to the ground and become dazed for a moment. |

Trivia[edit]
- Dark Taranza's indigo and yellow accents are a nod to the color scheme of Queen Sectonia. As a result, he resembles a wasp or a bee at first glance. However, his design is in fact closer to a joro spider, a type of spider prevalent in Japan; the females of the species have distinctive yellow-and-blue striped bodies.
- Dark Taranza's head is the shadow that looms over Team Kirby in the Team Kirby Clash Deluxe logo, similar to how Landia's shadow looms over Team Kirby in Team Kirby Clash and Parallel Nightmare looms over Team Kirby in Super Kirby Clash.
- Dark Taranza is one of two enemies from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe (the other being Colossal Waddle Dee) to not reappear in Super Kirby Clash.
- However, there is a set of Doctor Healmore Gear in Super Kirby Clash based on Dark Taranza: the Dark Taranza Flask and the Dark Hataranza.
