Pseudo Zombies, stylized in-game as PseudoZombi, are an enemy in EarthBound Beginnings found to the south of Podunk in the South Cemetery. Pseudo Zombies resemble a human in the process of mutating into a Zombie, or, as the name implies, someone influenced to act as a zombie, appearing as a bare-chested man with short red hair and blue shorts, which appear red in-game, with a deformed face and an aggressive expression. Though they cannot utilize any special attacks, they are relatively challenging during the segment of the game where they mainly are fought in.
Pseudo Zombies are also one of the few enemies in the game to have an overworld sprite in EarthBound Beginnings, which only can be found in the southern part of Podunk. While simply appearing to be normal person, a conversation with them will lead to the initiation of a battle. These encounters don't respawn after being defeated and can thereafter only be met through random encounters.
