The Hyena is an enemy in EarthBound Beginnings, found in Choucream Zoo. As the name implies, they are directly based on real-world hyenas. During the events of the game, Hyenas, along with the other zoo animals, become agitated from a Starman Jr. and turn hostile. After the Starman Jr. is defeated, they can no longer be encountered. In battle, they can deal damage to a single target or attempt to run-forfeiting any experience that would otherwise be gained if successful. They appear in groups of 2-3.
