Let's rev it up!
~ Yusei's catchphrase

Summary

Yusei Fudo is the main protagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, and was one of the Signers. He is known for and respected by many other characters in the show for his genius style of Dueling, his considerable skill, and his cool and clever personality. He uses a Duel Runner, which is called the Yusei Go. In the English dub, "Let's rev it up!" is a common catchphrase that he uses when he summons a Synchro Monster. He is also the foster brother of Jack Atlas and Crow Hogan, and very good friends with Kalin Kessler, with whom Yusei has history.

Along with the ability to construct one, he is also shown to be an expert at riding a Duel Runner, pulling off extremely dangerous maneuvers on a regular basis. He was even able to reverse-engineer a Duel Board simply from a detailed drawing. Yusei is also an adept teacher as shown when he was helping Akiza get her Turbo Dueling License. He is a skilled fighter, as evident from how effortlessly he knocked out two of Goodwin's security guards, and is street smart enough to consistently evade capture Sector Security, He’s also an expert in physics, eventually over his parents' job as head of overseeing the completion of the Ener-D Reactor and even building the Fortune program to prevent the Meklord Emperor Genocide. As the captain of Team 5Ds, Yusei showed to be a very capable strategist and tactician, able to see through his opponent's plans and devising plans for his own team)

Weaknesses: His temper gets the best of him when someone disrespects any card and is willing to go to great lengths to protect those around him, especially his friends.

Note: Humans cannot normally use their spirit energy nor could they summon real monsters outside of a shadow game or a place that is full of spirit energy.
