Summary
Bill Cipher is a triangular dream demon who exists in the Mind/Dreamscape and the true antagonist of Gravity Falls, secretly being responsible for many of the most important events of and leading up to the show.
Years ago, Bill made contact with Stanford "Ford" Pines, posing as a muse who revealed himself only once every century to a special individual. Tricking Ford into thinking of him as a friend, Bill promised the answers to all of his questions so long as Ford allowed him access to his mind. Ford eventually built a trans-universal portal that he believed would bring answers to important questions until he discovered the true purpose of the device.
The portal would act as a connection between the real world and the realm of nightmares, allowing Bill and his friends to pour through, leaving their realm to claim another universe. Ford shut the portal off and denying Bill access to the universe. Years later, after Bill reveals himself to more members of the Pines family and begins to stir up even more trouble in Gravity Falls, he inches his way closer to his goal. As of "Weirdmageddon Part I", he has managed to finally achieve physical form and enter the real world and is beginning to spread madness and chaos across the globe.

Helped Stanford in building a portal for the "Weirdness Dimension", with the portal being powerful enough to shake the entire Nightmare Realm, a 5-D, possibly 12-D infinite structure, which also required for its construction 5th-Dimensional Calculus, Hyper-Advanced Engineering, Applied Quantum Phase Theory and a Temporal Displacement Hyperdrive, with the latter being an invention which won't be made from humanity until 10,000 years later in the future, while also tricking him to lead said portal to instead the Nightmare Realm with Ford being unaware of it until that the portal was almost activated.[6][10] Programmed a computer in trinary code, which is capable of mass hypnosis and eating fingers. Made a videogame that deletes the memories of the player.[9]
While hiding his true identity behind a corpse he's possessed, Bill has created a cult called "Cipherthology", whose members were so devoted that under Bill's instructions, they have changed their legal name, took over cities, or were even about to build the Portal to the Nightmare Realm with scrap metal and car parts.[7]
Weaknesses: Cannot stand synthesized music,[9] to the point that it literally hurts him.[1] Tinfoil is something that can be used to prevent Bill from entering inside minds,[9] something that Stanford Pines has noticed, making him decide to install aluminum inside his head[6] (although Bill can still manipulate[14] his dreams[6]). His eye is his weak spot, as targetting it[1] will cause actual pain to him, other than Bill requiring more time to regenerate it compared to his other body parts.[14][Note 2] While he is in someone's mind,[3] memory erasure can be used to[3] permanently erase him,[9] forcing him to summon the Axolotl to survive. Due to his mind being occupied from always seeing the past, the future and multiple dimension at the same time, Bill has a short attention span.
