“ | I'm… Ayanami. I'm often called a demon. Pleasure to meet you. | „ |
Summary
The personification of the destroyer Ayanami. The Type II Ayanami-class destroyers, were a marginally improved version of the existing Fubuki-class. Ayanami made up one prong of a three-pronged attack, but communication trouble from her being on the other side of Savo Island caused her to not receive news that her fleet had retreated temporarily, which resulted in her meeting the entire fury of the American fleet. The Battle of the Solomons, or the Second Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, would be Ayanami's last naval engagement before her untimely sinking

Damaging it can hinder their fighting efficiencies and capacities; without it they lose the abilities to fight and their superhuman physical characteristics, returning them to normal human girl levels of strength. Torpedoes need water to operate properly.
