Negagen is a recurring antagonist in the Sonic.exe: Nightmare Universe series by JaizKoys, first appearing in Sally.exe: Eye of Three. He also appears as a recurring character in Nightmare Shorts. He is a Wave Demon who can mind-control people and turn them into a negative state. He is also Exetior's and apprentice.

He is voiced by DarkBox, who also voices Knuckles, Pervision and Sark in the same series, as well as Exeller from the Sonic.exe: The Spirits of Hell series.

Overview[]

Negagen often spent most of his earlier life living near lakes and swamps. He would often catch and absorb the souls of animals or extremely rare mortals that approached his area. One day, he would be visited by Dia-Li-Lax and be forced with an ultimatum in either joining his alliance or to be killed. When Negagen refused, he would attempt to absorb the souls of a Mobian tourist group to fight against Dia-Li-Lax, but would later feel overwhelmed by the amount he tried to absorb, leaving him open to attack by Dia-Li-Lax and his allies. However, he was saved by the Highest Exetior, advising the young Demon to put the absorbed souls back into the mortals and control them remotely.

As he followed Exetior, he would begin to subjugate more and more mortals until he had an entire army at his command. He would then finally catch up to him and his hideout, where he saw entire groups of both Sharpness Demons and Rupter Demons working together. He had no idea why the two worked together, but when he was spotted, he was relentlessly bashed by them to the brink of death, barely escaping out of there alive.

He found out about Exetior's past and how he wanted to start an uprising against the other Highests, deciding to stay fiercely loyal to him no matter what. When the First Global War of Demons VS Highests came around, he was one of the demons locked inside the Phantom Prison for thousands of years. He was freed when Exetior's transformation into an Arch-Demon caused the prison to fall apart. As Exetior hid in various different pocket dimensions on Mobius, Negagen began to grow his army again. He would later shapeshift into a form Super Sonic after witnessing a version of him fight against different demons within another dimension.

Personality[]

Negagen is a very passive Wave Demon that often choose not to engage in combat (likely due to him being weaker than most other Wavers). He is often very indifferent to the cruelty of other demons such as Sark or Pervision, and rather likes to study how both them and mortals socialize. A common running gag is how Negagen misunderstands social norms, such as wearing a dress after asking why both male and female Mobians wear different clothes.

When attempting to mind-control mortals, he can come off as very charismatic and manipulative. When attempting to mind control Amy, he often calls her "sweetheart" or "honey" as a way of making her feel comfortable enough for his mind control to become more effective.

Negagen is zealously loyal to Exetior. Despite the Arch-Demon's attempts at making him go away, he still persists and always tries to stay his side.

Powers and Abilities[]

• Wave Demon physiology: Negagen has no solid physical form other than turquoise-blue core stones at his center surrounded by a shell of water^[1]. His entire physical body is liquid, and he can absorb water to revitalize his energy. Just like all Wave Demons, he has the native ability to absorb souls and control them with his power.
  • Superhuman attributes: While Wave Demons are the weakest of the three demon types, Negagen is still powerful enough to compete against physically superhuman characters such as Amy, Cream and Sally.
  • Chaos Energy manipulation and emission: Negagen is able to utilize Chaos Energy, the same power exerted from the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald. He can use it to fly, teleport, shapeshift, utilize telekinesis and shoot beams of blue light that paralyze opponents or mind control them.
  • Soul and mind control: Negagen's most powerful ability is his ability to reinsert souls and use them as a means of mind controlling entities, learned from Exetior when he was struggling with Dia-Li-Lax. This ability however can be broken out of if the controlled find a way to break out in their dream world.

• Negagen's design is highly inspired by the character "Anti.dll" by YouTuber PotterAndMatrixFan, which is based upon a fan-made sequel of the Sonic.exe creepypasta series where a group of people rise up against X's tyranny.
• According to his official biography^[1] and JaizKoys' Twitter:
  • He is around 5,000 years old, 3.6 feet tall in his Sonic form, and 9.2 feet tall in his true form.
  • He is genderless, but prefers he/him pronouns.
  • He does not understand humor and the moral principles and relationships of mortals.

  • He treats Pervision positively. He will often watch his experiments with interest and talk to him on various topics. However, Negagen is not always able to understand his humor.
  • He is neutral to Sark, and always maintains that tone with him despite all his attempts to humiliate him.
