Hello, everyone. Welcome to my first Complete Monster proposal. I have been whitelisted a couple of months ago and just now, I have a pretty good candidate to propose. Enter Zach Nolan (or should I say Jack Logan?) from Muddy Park. Now it might be a little short for a proposal but that's because I tried my best to expand it because the story is a bit short to describe. Anyways, let's start on.
What's the Work?[]
Muddy Park is a 2019 Roblox game created by 1SneaX1, now called Sneax that is a fan-made game to SamsonXVI's camping series. The game revolves around the players, portrayed as investigators going to search Zach Nolan in Muddy Park, only for them to be ambushed by the murderer and escape using Samson's Castle, which is nearby the park using a cave.
Who's Zach Nolan and What Has He Done?[]
NOTE: MOST OF THE TEXT IS COPIED FROM HIS PAGE WHICH I EDITED, SO I THINK IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT THE PROPOSAL IS SELF-PLAGIARIZED.
Zach Nolan is the main antagonist of the game and spends half of the game chasing after you. As a facade, he is also the chief of police, who appears in the Bad Ending of the game.
At some point before the events of the game, Zach killed the Family of 5, presumably in Muddy Park, which caused concern to the authorities. Zach is first seen ambushing the players by either shooting them with his pistol or trying to stab them while chasing you with full speed.
Zach then appears in the second section of Samson's Castle, where he pursues the players until a parkour section where he seemingly falls to death to the spike pits below. We also see him in the Good and Bad endings, where in the former, he confronts the players. Zach is about to kill the players, only for one of the players to shoot him with a bullet. In the latter ending, on the other hand, Zach appears as Jack Logan, where he is the captain of the police and takes the players into the police station to ask them some questions. However, since Jack Logan is the killer's police captain facade, it is heavily implied that he killed off the players afterwards, therefore succeeding in killing the heroes and getting away with his crimes.
Mitigating Factors/Freudian Excuse?[]
When it comes to these factors, there's absolutely NOTHING whatsoever. Unlike the original counterpart, despite his Freudian Excuse being invalid, genuinely cares for his daughter and redeems himself in Camping 3, this version of Zach doesn't have a motivation, other than sheer fun. While his daughter, Emma, appears as the Hotel monster in the first section of the Samson Castle, there's literally zero proof that Zach knows, let alone cares for her.
Is Muddy Park a Parody?[]
If you've been thinking about that, I guess you've been thinking about the final boss having the Infinity Gauntlet, which may sound ridiculously comedic on paper. But other than that, the story doesn't play a comedic tone most of the time and Zach is treated completely seriously by the audiences and the in-universe characters, with no signs of parodic traits.
Heinous Standards[]
NOTE: READ THIS SECTION WITH CAUTION.
As you can see the first picture above, there are multiple people fleeing from Zach, which makes him pass the general standards and according to the in-game servers, there can be up to 100 players, meaning that Zach's attempted victim count can be up to that high. In the Bad Ending, he also ends up presumably killing the players after getting out of Samson's Castle, judging by his appearance as Jack Logan. Additionally, it's confirmed that he has killed the Family of 5, with the Son being resurrected into a vengeful spirit. Although it isn't important to the plot, he has some personal villainy towards the Son due to the aforementioned reason.
System Standard?[]
All of the antagonists, like Samson, the Hotel monster and the Son try to kill the heroes, which is system standard for the series, but Zach manages to have a higher kill count than them, as he killed an additional 5 people, with only 3 of them being children.
Offscreen Villainy?[]
Honestly, this was the reason I was slightly conflicted on proposing. However, there are a couple of reasons why this doesn't count as offscreen villainy:
- First of all, we can see that the Son is hellbent on revenge on Zach, as you can see in the Secret Ending. You can watch here how the ending goes. We see that the Son has been resurrected into a vengeful being that wanted to avenge his family and kill Zach.
- The murders also have a full impact on the story, as this incident is the reason why the investigation from the players and the police started happening.
Seeing these two factors, I think it's safe to say that the killing of the Family of 5 actually happened.
Competition?[]
The only competition we have is Samson, who also tried to kill the players after successfully infiltrating to the final section of the castle. However, seeing that Samson has a whole castle full of death traps and spike pits, as well as the Infinity Gauntlet he puts on, Zach has much lower resources compared to him, as he only has weapon knowledge and speed that rivals the players. So clearly, Samson fails the Heinous Standards to Zach.
To a lesser extent, we also have the monster from Hotel and the Son, who try to kill you in the corridors and the dark maze respectively, but they don't quite meet the standards compared to Zach and Samson.
Are Any of the Endings Canon?[]
To be fair, it isn't confirmed that any of the endings are canon, so depending on which ending you take, Zach meets his fate. In the Bad Ending, he presumably kills off the players and continues killing again.
Verdict[]
I personally think he will count, but what do you guys vote as my first CM Proposal?
