The Yeti Imposters are an antagonistic group featured in the Jonny Quest episode "Monster in the Monastery". One of them was voiced by the late Henry Corden.
Biography[]
These impostors taken up residence in the old palace, putting an entire village in danger of getting killed off due to loss of resources as it was access to the rope-way to their only access to civilization. One of the impostors were shown mangling a man. Later, one of the imposters began launching rocks at the village. This same yeti was later spying on the heroes when they arrive. When Bandit crosses the bridge, thus leading to the yeti throwing a boulder an in attempt to kill the dog but fails when the boulder breaks in half and both pieces miss.
Jonny and Hadji find one of them unmasking himself and meeting up with his subordinates where they plan to burn the village so they can take over the area. When they spot Jonny, Hadji, and Bandit, they open fire on the three and chase them down throughout the palace. The three manage to hide in a pile of hay where they overhear the men launching fireballs at the village where its elder suggest they leave.
Later, the leader orders a search for the boys who manage to incapacitate two of them. Soon Jonny strikes two of them with vases and the leader follows him to a stairwell. Jonny proceeds to spill oil which leads to the leader falling down the stairs and off the mountain to his death. This was not the end of them, however, as the subordinates still need to be dispatched. Hadji knocks out one of them and takes his mask.
At this time when the village elder, Race and Dr. Quest head to the palace, one of the imposters has fire set to the bridge, but the three manage to make it across with the imposter getting killed by his boulder. The boys manage to push off another imposter and use a gong as a shield against the yetis until they improvise by riding it and escape the temple. Soon after, the real yeti arrives and kills off the remaining members. Jonny, Hadji, and Bandit return to the palace with Race, Dr. Quest, and the Villager Elder to find them only to them all dead.
