Sham & Buchi are minor antagonists of the live-action series One Piece, based on the anime/manga series of the same name. They are members of the Black Cat Pirates, but work undercover as servants in Kaya's Mansion to obtain her wealth.
They are portrayed by Bianca Oosthuizen (Sham) and Albert Pretorius (Buchi).
Biography[]
Captain Kuro was fed up with his life as a pirate and came up with a plan to escape the pirate life and enjoy a life of wealth. He made the marine Morgan believe, that he had killed him, which meant that the pirate Captain Kuro was considered dead. Three years ago, he hired as an employee for Miss Kaya's parents, who soon died. Sham and Buchi also worked with him as employees in Miss Kaya's villa, with Sham pretending to be a maid, while Buchi worked as a cook. Their plan, however, was for Kaya to die too, and so Buchi poisoned Miss Kaya's food, causing her to become weaker every day. That way, no one would suspect anything if she died after a long "illness" and transferred her fortune to her friend and helper Captain Kuro alias butler Klahadore. However, they had to play the game until Kaya came of age and the fortune was to pass to her in full.
When the long-awaited 18th birthday finally arrived, Sham swept the back entrance to Miss Kaya's villa while Buchi prepared a wild boar. At that moment, Usopp, who had previously befriended Luffy, Zoro and Nami, appeared and led them to Kaya because they wanted to talk to her about the Going Merry. The staff made clear that Usopp was not welcome when Klahadore and Miss Kaya suddenly appeared. Miss Kaya invited Usopp and his friends to dinner, much to the staff's displeasure. Sham then took the guests to the guest rooms, where they could take a bath and change. Buchi and Sham then prepared everything for dinner when their captain arrived and made it clear once again that everything had to be perfect that evening. He showed Sham a dirty glass, which she wanted to clean, but Kuro dropped it, frightening his two subordinates. After the Straw Hats had changed, Sham and Buchi welcomed them and Merry with small appetizers and after Kaya appeared, Sham served the guests at dinner. When Zoro and Usopp found the murdered Merry in the wine cellar at night, Captain Kuro, Sham and Buchi appeared. Sham eliminated Zoro by hitting his head with a glass bottle from behind. Usopp managed to escape, which worried Sham a little, but their captain did not see that as a problem since no one would believe him anyway. Sham and Buchi then disposed of Merry and Zoro in the well and contrary to Buchi's suggestion to keep Zoro's swords, Sham also threw the swords in the well to remove all traces. She then sat on the cart and let Buchi drive her back to the villa. Later Sham, Flecki and Kuro found Luffy unconscious in the kitchen. He had eaten all of the poisoned soup. At that moment, the doorbell rang and the Marines were there under the leadership of Koby and Helmeppo. Klahadre then called Buchi and asked him to bring the "drunk" Straw Hat Pirate to the door. Since Luffy was going to die anyway because of the poison, he and Sham stuck to the plan and brought Luffy to the door. The Marines then left with him. However, Nami was still in the house, who surprised Sham in the kitchen and knocked her out. When she came to, Buchi and Kuro were standing with her. When it was finally midnight, the plan to murder Kaya was to be put into action and they slipped into their pirate clothes. However, along with Nami, Usopp was also back in the house and later Zoro and Luffy joined them again. While Luffy rushed to help Kaya, Usopp and Nami in the fight against Captain Kuro, Buchi and Sham faced the swordsman Zorro. Thanks to good teamwork, they were able to put the swordsman in trouble and even steal one of his swords, but ultimately they were inferior to him. Sham and Buchi were then left tied up in the entrance area for the Marines, while their captain managed to escape alone on a small rowing boat.
