The Red Stripes are major antagonists in the 2024 sci-fi action crossover film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the fifth installment of the MonsterVerse franchise.
They are members of the Skar King's court who willingly serve and follow orders from him to commit sadistic and cruel acts while aiding him in ruling over his clan to make sure that the Great Apes follow his orders and killing those who oppose the Skar King.
Appearance[]
Like Kong, the Red Stripes are ape-like Titans with an appearance quite similar to that of gorillas, bonobos and chimpanzees while displaying a muscular physique, but are shown to have lack of fur on their bodies, have scars on specific parts of their bodies, and some suffer from the skin condition Vitiligo that causes patches of skin to lose pigment, due to living in a volcanic environment with little nourishment. They are also shown to have war paint on their bodies.
Personality[]
Not much is known about the Red Stripes, though it's implied that they are the most loyal of the Skar King's regime and will do anything to achieve their goal in capturing or even killing others of their species like Suko or Kong, with the former betraying them. They are even shown to be just as sadistic and cruel as the Skar King is, and like him, they relish their power over their inferiors. One-Eye, one of the Red Stripes, is more intelligent than the others, shown repeatedly reporting back to the Skar King and is even shown to lead his forces when Skar himself is not directing things personally.
Although the Red Stripes follow their master's orders, it's revealed that the Skar King never cares about them as he was only seeing them as tools that he can use to bring terror to his subjects and doesn't even care if the Red Stripes die in the process.
Biography[]
Past[]
Not much is known about the Red Stripes while it's unknown for how long they have served the Skar King, but for sure, it is implied that they went through some abuse to be obedient to him. Their ancestors possibly have been around fighting Godzilla and his species in the past.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire[]
One-Eye, Stone-Fist and Catcher meet Kong when he arrives in the Underground Kingdom in Hollow Earth and try to kill him. Stone-Fist and Catcher are killed but One-Eye escaped.
Later, One-Eye, Knob and 5 other Red Stripes chase Kong after he flees to escape the Skar King and Shimo. Two Red Stripes are killed by traps and 4 others including Knob are killed by Suko when he triggers a rock fall, but One-Eye survives once again, but this time because he was used Knob as a shield.
The Skar King takes Shimo, One-Eye and the rest of Red Stripes for the final battle. The Red Stripes are killed by Mothra and Godzilla while One-Eye is killed by Suko.
