The Marquis is a minor antagonist of Castlevania Nocturne. He is a well known French aristocrat in Vendee, who is a member of Erzsebet Bathory's cult and seeks to help her takeover the world.
He is voiced by Jonathan Roumie in the English dub and Yasuhiko Nemoto in the Japanese dub.
Biography[]
During one of his personal parties at the chateau, the Marquis is talking to an nobleman about their personal issues on the country and how bland the blood taste from the commoners. His wife arrives with the body of Jacques, Maria's Revolutionary friend, and joins her on sucking his blood. He then threw away his body with other ones and send them to the Abbot, where he can make more night creatures for Erzsebet. Days later, the Marquis meets Drolta Tzuentes and introduces her to the Abbot then went to look into his night creatures and how is he progressing. They notice intruders inside the basement and turns out to be Richter and his team. The Marquis joins the fight but was easily killed by Richter through decaptation.
Later on, Drolta and the other vampires burned his body out of remembrance though Drolta only saw him as a pawn but was suprise that the Marquis wife wish to keep his head. After the arrival of Erzsebet Bathory, his wife decided to seek revenge on her husband's killers and brought two vampires to join her but were quickly dispatch by Tera and Maria. She almost got the upper hand until she was finally killed by Richter.
Appearance[]
The Marquis wears common 18th century aristocrat attire. It is a blue coat with a shirt underneath and an ascot. He wears a wig, which is a common fashion trend for the time period, and a light blue ribbon on his coat.
Personality[]
From whats shown, The Marquis repressent the vampiric society in France and their control on the aristocrisy. He is sadistic, arrogant, manipulative, and careless when it comes to the lives of humans. Like most vampires in the show, he joined Erzsebet's cult in order to conquer the world and finally establish slavery to all of humanity. Though it can be said he loves his wife due to the emotional turmoil she was going through when recieving news of his death. It got to that point where she starts holding his decapitated head around with her. Despite joining Erzsebet's cult, Olrox states the Marquis only join for the sake of oppurtunity implying that he hold no love for his suppose messiah.
