She is voiced by Elarica Johnson.
Biography[]
Past[]
Drolta was born in ancient Egypt. In her mortal life, Drolta served as a priestess who worshipped Sekhmet, the goddess of war and vengeance. She was also devoted to helping her people during a famine, giving out food rations and defending Sekhmet's temple against invaders. However, that all changed when the temple and the town surrounding it was invaded by vampires. The vampires slaughtered nearly everyone within and stole Sekhmet's mummified corpse, with Drolta being the sole survivor. Drolta prayed to Sekhmet for strength in order to avenge her people, and she soon discovered a single vampire left. Drolta fought and defeated the vampire, and believing him to be the answer to her prayers, proceeded for drink the vampire's blood in order to become one herself.
For the following centuries, Drolta became obsessed with reviving Sekhmet and started a cult worshipping her, during which she would have the strongest members drink Sekhmet's blood in order to gain the goddess's power. However, each and every cultist that drank Sekhmet's blood would die from the divine power, leading to Drolta becoming increasingly desperate to find someone who could serve as a vessel.
Eventually, Drolta discovered the Countess Erzsebet Báthory, a Hungarian noblewoman and alleged serial killer who targeted young women and bathed in the blood of her victims. Recognizing Erzsebet's latent power, Drolta approached her and offered her the chance to become a goddess. Erzsebet accepted and drank Sekhmet's blood as part of a ritual, becoming the first being to survive doing so. Drolta then pledged her loyalty to Erzsebet and began worshipping her as the "Vampire Messiah" who would one day take over the world.
Carrying out the countess's orders without any hesitation, Drolta would lead her forces in raiding the villages of commoners in Russia who fought back against the tyranny of Erzsebet or other vampires, while also kidnapping young women from these settlements to present to Erzsebet for her to torture in her dungeon as a grisly pastime. One of these women was the sister of the Speaker magician Tera, who was turned into a vampire by Erzsebet during her captivity before being killed by Tera herself when she tried to rescue her.
Season 1[]
In the present, Drolta travels to Paris in the middle of the French Revolution to meet with the forgemaster Abbot Emmanuel to secure an alliance in order to gain his horde of Night Creatures. Upon her arrival, she murders two members of the Revolutionaries with sadistic glee. She later kills a cowardly deputy working for the Revolutionary and raids his home, capturing his traumatized daughter and drinking some of her blood before deciding to keep her to present to Erzsebet.
At the Chateau, she brands new recruits into Erzsebet's cult, including the Comte de Vaublanc, after having them take an oath of loyalty to Erzebet. The following night, she speaks to her master through a magic crystal to inform her of her meeting with the Abbot the next day, while also promising that all of the leaders of the world would kneel before her.
Meeting with Emmanuel in his church the following morning, accompanied by the Marquis, she would exchange snarky remarks with the Abbot and his right-hand, Mizrak, before asking to inspect the Night Creatures in the catacombs of his cathedral. The group encounters Richter Belmont, Maria Renard, Annette, and Tera sneaking around the tunnels, leading to a fight. Drolta fights Annette, Maria, and Tera with vicious bloodlust, managing to injure Maria with her claws before being stopped by Emmanuel (due to Tera and Maria being his illegitimate wife and daughter respectively) who insists that killing children wasn't part of their agreement. She continues to fight Annette before Richter forces the group to retreat after encountering Olrox for the first time since his childhood. Drolta greets Olrox before demanding that Emmanuel make more Night Creatures to replace the ones killed by their enemies.
Drolta attends the funeral for the Marquis, who had been killed by Richter during the fight at the Church. She expresses annoyance at the Marquis' wife mourning over her husband's head, cracking jokes about it with her lieutenant Nikolai before sending him to kill Richter to appease the countess. She later finds Olrox feeding on a noble, something she chastises him for due to the vampires needing the human aristocracy's support and compliance. They both walk to the cemetery where Drolta tells Olrox about Erzsebet's plan to bring about an eternal night and usher in the Vampire's supremacy over humanity, while also asking if he would pledge himself to Erzsebet. She later returns to the Chateau, unaware that the two were being followed by Annette, who heard the entire exchange.
She and a group of cultists greet Erzsebet upon her awaited arrival in Paris, where Drolta presents her with the girl who she kidnapped from the Deputies house, watching as Erzsebet began to drink her blood slowly and painfully. She accompanies her master through the town and pass by Emmanuel's church along the way, with Drolta noticing Emmanuel speaking to Maria privately, causing her to come to the realization of the latter being the Abbots daughter. Following Erzsebet's speech to her followers at the Chateau, Drolta tells her about Maria, who they can use as leverage to secure Emmanuels permanent loyalty to the vampire messiah. She introduces Olrox to Erzsebet and helps to explain the countesses plans to expand her conquest to America. Throughout the discussion she repeatedly demands that Olrox bow to Erzebet, her tone growing angrier and more forceful until Olrox is threatened by Erzsebet into begrudgingly bowing. She later attends Erzsebet's meeting with Emmanuel, during which they reveal their knowledge of his relationship with Maria, while also telling him that he would offer her as a sacrifice to cement their alliance in her blood, to the priest's horror.
Following Erzsebet using Sekhmet's power to completely eclipse the sun, Drolta's power increases, transforming her into her Succubus form before leading Erzsebet's forces in invading the town and surrounding countryside. Later, she leads vampire cultists to the Church where she confronts the heroes arriving to rescue Maria, mocking Richter for running away from Olrox the last time she saw him. She fights with Richter and Maria, who's magic was slowly beginning to overwhelm her until Erzsebet's arrival at the Church. After their enemies are overpowered, she would help explain to Emmanuel that their plan wasn't to kill Maria but to turn her into a vampire. When Tera offers herself in Maria's place to save her, Drolta laughs off Emmanuels demands to let Richter, Maria, Annette, and Mizrak go, pointing out that the Abbots Night Creature army had been significantly reduced, meaning he had nothing else to bargain with. After affirming to the guilt-ridden priest that their association with the French Revolution meant sparing them wasn't an option, she pursues her enemies and lunges towards them with her claws and teeth bared. But before she could strike the heroes down, Drolta was impaled from behind. She lives just long enough to turn around and see that her killer was none other than the legendary Alucard before her body shrivels up and collapses to the ground, seemingly marking the end of Drolta Tzuentes.
Season 2[]
Drolta's body is brought back to the chateau, where Erzsebet is devastated to find that her best friend and loyal servant has been killed. Erzsebet spends a significant amount of time grieving over Drolta's death, swearing revenge against Alucard and insisting that none of her other servants could measure up to Drolta. However, upon learning that Night Creatures retain their souls upon being resurrected, Erzsebet orders Abbot Emmanuel to resurrect Drolta as a Night Creature. The Abbot does exactly that, and Drolta is revived as a Night Creature, now permanently in her Succubus form and able to go out in the daylight. Despite technically being a creation of the Abbot, Drolta nevertheless informs him that she has no loyalty to him and continues to serve only Erzsebet.
Eventually, the French National Guard begins marching on Machecoul to liberate the city from the tyrannical government, which Olrox informs Drolta and Erzsebet of. Drolta decides to take matters into her own hands and arrives on the battlefield in broad daylight. With sadistic glee, Drolta proceeds to slaughter every last one of the revolutionaries while Olrox and Mizrak are forced to watch in horror.
Upon returning to the chateau that night, Olrox is greeted by Drolta, who has grown suspicious Olrox's true loyalties. This intuition is ultimately correct, as Olrox had been secretly collaborating with the heroes to stop the Erzsebet's eclipse in the first season. Despite not knowing this for sure, Drolta forces Olrox to his knees and brands him with Sekhmet's insignia to symbolize his loyalty to the cult.
Throughout the season, Drolta leads Erzsebet's forces to hunt down Richter, Annette, and Alucard, who are searching for Sekhmet's corpse. The heroes eventually lead Drolta straight to the location of the corpse in Paris, where Drolta is able to recover the body and bring it back to Erzsebet. Erzsebet consumes Sekhmet's heart, which further increases her power and causes another solar eclipse.
Annette ventures into the spirit realm to find Sekhmet's soul and eventually finds the goddess. Annette informs Sekhmet that Drolta has betrayed her and bestowed her powers onto Erzsebet, which enrages Sekhmet. Sekhmet then possesses Annette's body and aids Richter in battling Erzsebet's forces.
Richter and Sekhmet battle Erzsebet while Drolta battles Alucard and Olrox, who finally reveals his alliance with the heroes. Erzsebet is eventually defeated and horribly wounded by the heroes, at which point Drolta swoops in to "rescue" her. When Erzsebet orders Drolta to drop her in the center of Paris so she can wipe out the French Revolutionaries, Drolta refuses and reveals that she is not— and never has been— loyal to Erzsebet. Drolta tells Erzsebet that she is not Sekhmet and that she was merely a pawn for Drolta the whole time. Drolta then murders Erzsebet and absorbs Sekhmet's heart and blood into herself, before descending from the skies and proclaiming herself to be Sekhmet reincarnated.
Richter, Maria, Sekhmet, Olrox, Alucard, and even Juste Belmont all join forces to battle the now-godlike Drolta together. This culminates in Sekhmet confronting Drolta herself, and when Drolta weakly tries to claim that everything she did was in the name of Sekhmet, the goddess rebukes her and reclaims her lost power. Drolta, now rejected by her goddess and left with only her standard powers, descends into animalistic rage and attempts to kill Richter, Annette, and Alucard once and for all. However, Richter is able to use his magical powers and Alucard's sword to slice Drolta in half, killing her for good.
Personality[]
Drolta is defined by her unwavering devotion to Erzsebet, carrying out her orders without hesitation and often with cruel satisfaction. As the countess's most faithful servant, she personally leads Erzsebets conquests, leading the massacre of villages that had defied her master in some perceived form or another. In addition, she also goes out of her way to capture young virgin women to be Erzsebet's playthings to torture and is shown taking sadistic glee in singling out a girl in France to present to her Messiah. Her loyalty is to such a degree that she takes personal offense to even fellow vampires refusing to bow before Erzsebet, repeatedly demanding that Olrox bow to her with her tone growing angrier as she repeats the command.
When interacting with others outside of Erzsebet, Drolta carries herself with a smug sense of superiority, casually mocking enemies and would be allies alike, regarding them as insignificant insects to either be brought to heel or drained of blood. She's also shown to look down on human aristocracy, confiding in Olrox her disgust at having to oppress the lower class for them in exchange for their power and influence, viewing their alliances with them as a pragmatic and temporary one. She's shown to view vampires as being superior to humans and sees Erzsebets plan to eclipse the sun and bring about an eternal night, as well as the subsequent subjugation and enslavement of humanity at her hands, as vampires achieving "total freedom", demonstrating how she sees vampires as deserving of ruling the Earth by natural right.
She exhibits little care for the wellbeing for her fellow vampires, expressing annoyance at the Marquis' wife's grief at her husband's death and even making insensitive and crass jokes at her expense with Nikolai. Her sending Nikolai to kill Richter in retribution are done more to ensure the nobilities support of Erzsebet than sympathy for the loss of one of their own, similar to how she views their pragmatic alliance with human nobles.
When engaged in combat, Drolta is shown to be completely ecstatic and fearless, charging directly into battle chuckling with manic delight as she exchanges blows with her enemies and attempts to tear them apart with her claws and fangs. All the while she rarely loses her smug and bloodthirsty composure, with one of the only noticeable exceptions being during her final moments of life, when she expresses surprised outrage at being impaled from behind by Alucard, although it's unclear if it was her being caught off guard by his surprise attack or her being taken aback by the seemingly mythical son of Dracula appearing at all.

“ | Drolta: We've seen empires rise and fall, Olrox. Mortals are fickle. They riot over bread, flit from one god to another. I was a priestess of Sekhmet, the Egyptian goddess of war and vengeance. I remember the smell of mortal bodies on festival days. The incents, the fervor of revelers, the feeling of touching the immortal. And now- Olrox: And now those temples are half buried in dust. Drolta: Exactly. Look at all this. Human lives are as long as mayflies. Their loyalty is just as fleeting. WE endure. When that Abbey and this town are in ruins will we still be lurking in the shadows? Looking for feeble loyalties amongst the mortals where we hope we may find them? Let's make a new world, Olrox.
