Duane Benzie is the main antagonist of the British sitcom Spaced.
He was portrayed by Peter Serafinowicz, who also played Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Pete in Shaun of the Dead, Darth Chef in South Park, George Spelvin in Archer, Goran the Mutilator in American Dad!, Forrest Blackwell in the LEGO City Undercover video game series, Blind Ivan in Gravity Falls, The Fisher King in Doctor Who, Johnny's Father in the Sing films, the Agency Director in Rick & Morty, Kang the Conqueror in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 and Iofur Raknison in His Dark Materials.

Past[]
Before the events of the series, Tim Bisley (the main protagonist of the show) and Duane Benzie were good friends and was the boss of Tim's girlfriend, Sarah. But on one day, Sarah left Tim for Duane, making Tim and Duane become enemies.
Battles[]
In the episode "Battles", Tim and his best friend Mike Watt went out to go paint balling, but as Tim and Mike are getting ready, Tim sees Duane talking on the phone. Tim then has flashback of his old friendship with him and Duane, which the flashback ends with Duane stealing his ex-girlfriend, Sarah. At first, Duane politely talks with Tim, but then Tim says that he stole his girlfriend. Duane tried to defend himself by saying it was beyond his control. He then asks them what they are on, Team A or B, Mike answers, saying it's B. Then Duane says he's in Team B, too, so Tim and Duane have to work together on the paintball field. Then, Tim tells Mike that he's fire at Duane.
On the paintball battlefield, Tim and Mike are hiding in cover with another paintball player. After Mike and the unnamed paintball player were talking, the paintball player gets up out of cover and then gets shot by a yellow paintball in the chest. Tim gets up out of cover sees it was Duane who shot the paintball player, which was on his team. Then, Tim sees Mike was missing, so goes out looking for him.
As Tim is looking around the field looking for Mike, Duane is right behind about to shoot him in the back of his, but before Duane can do that, his phone rings, which made Tim to turn around and aims his gun at Duane's face. As they're having a gun faceoff, Duane says that they are to close to each for a paintball fight, so both of them agree to back away from each other. As they're backing away, Duane shoots Tim, but has run out of paint in his gun, so Tim shoots, too, but has also run out of paint completely, however Duane had a extra cannister. As Duane is about to a outnumbered Tim, Mike comes to rescue and throws his paintball guns to Tim and deflects Duane's shoot to the chest. Tim with both Mike's guns, he then shoots both of them at Duane's groan, which flying up in the screaming, making Tim victorious.
After the paintball fight, Tim's shoot on Duane was so severe, that Duane being taken away by the ambulance.
Ends[]
In the episode "Ends", it is revealed that Sarah and Duane broke off their relationship. She attempts to get back together with Tim, but he turns her down. She and Duane end up back together.
Gone[]
In the episode "Gone", Tim and Daisy go to a bar to get a drink. Then, Daisy tells Tim that she puts men off, but Tim doesn't agree with that, so he goes to the restroom and believes that someone will talk to Daisy when comes out. When Tim comes out of the restroom, he sees Daisy is talking to someone, he realized that she is actually talking to Duane, which gives Tim flashbacks of the paintball battle he had with him and imagining him and Daisy getting together. Tim then interferes with Duane and Daisy's conversation and starts arguing with Duane. After their argument, Tim and Daisy leave the bar to go home, leaving Duane alone in the table booth. As Duane is sitting in the booth, he sees that Tim left his keys to his apartment, which Duane steals them and says he'll have revenge.
Duane leaves the bar and throws Tim's keys on a moving truck. He then gets in his car feeling accomplish and laughs maniacally as he drives off. As he drives off, he ends up in a traffic collision with the Romford thugs who were formerly antagonizing Tim and Daisy. He then gets out of his angry and antagonizing the leader of the gang, which leader doesn't response. Duane then turns around and sees the gang was right behind him whole time and says "Clever boys.", in reference to Jurassic Park. Then, the gang beats up Duane to the ground and tries to apologizes as the leader watches and smokes.
Trivia[]
- Although he appears in only two episodes in the series (excluding episodes of flashbacks and/or mention of him), he is the main antagonist of the series because he is main reason why Tim had to leave Sarah and move out, which lead Tim to find Daisy and leading them to live together.
- In the episode "Gone" the quote "At last I will emerge as the victor, at last I will have revenge.", is a parody to what Darth Maul said in The Phantom Menace File:Reveal ourselves to the Jedi.ogg, who is also portrayed by Peter Serafinowicz.
