Bloody Transformation

Donovan The Damned Daylight (Formerly Donovan The Southern Pacific GS-4) is a Demonic Southern Pacific Railroad GS-4 4-8-4 "Northern" Ghost Train that was made by railfanner "D-Fender". He's the main villain ghost train of Donovan the GS-4 who was a good engine at first. But he became rude and mean and after his accident at midnight of January 10, 1957, he is now known as the damned daylight.

Early Life[]

Donovan was built by the Lima Locomotives Works in Lima, Ohio between early-mid May 1941 for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was among one of the 28 Southern Pacific Class GS-4s delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad. He along with Dylan, Ryan, Liz, & Edward pulled the famous daylight express passengers trains of the SP between San Francisco and Los Angeles, CA. But it also pulled many other of the SP's named passenger trains.

First Accident[]

On September 19, 1941, at 1:30am, Donovan had unexpectedly collided with the Lark overnight passenger train while the Lark was parked in a siding over at Donner Pass which Edward mentioned in the Ghost Train Special in D-Fender's Donovan The Damned Daylight video.

Post-War Service[]

After the arrival of newer GS-4s and GS-5s that took over some of the routes Donovan along with his siblings were assigned to Golden State Route and Sunset Route passenger trains. Upon later diesel locomotives taking over some of the passenger trains, Donovan along with his siblings were reassigned to the Coast Division with commuter and freight service in the early 1950s.

Second Accident/Death[]

On the night of January 9, 1957, Donovan was assigned to pull a freight train over Donner Pass. Dylan, Ryan, Edward, Liz, Brad, and their siblings and friends warned about the grade in Donner Pass being a dangerous place to go during winter time, especially during snowstorms. They explained him that if he keeps acting mean, he will get to an accident and most likely die. Donovan didn't listen and told them that he has been to Donner Pass and crossed over it without any accidents, especially during the winter time. Even though Ryan told him even if he crossed the mountainous terrain in any season, doesn't mean that the grade is safe. Edward told him about that accident with the Lark overnight passenger train while the Lark was parked in a siding over at the area which was pretty much enough a bad accident. Liz told him that when she was crossing Donner Pass, she felt like her air brakes would freeze and would run away but get to her destination safely. His friends and siblings tried to advise him, but he never listened. Donovan says that they worry too much and would handle running through the grade. Then he puffed out of the shed to collect his train with the last time that he saw Dylan, Ryan, Edward, Liz, Brad, and their siblings and friends. Eventually, his arrogant got the better of him.

While he collected his freight train, he was ready to huff out of the yard to his destination. It was a very severe winter storm that caused the tracks to be icy. Donovan and his train were going up the hill over Donner Pass until they reached the top at speed. Then there was trouble, they started going downhill. Donovan's air brakes wasn't working properly, his driver told him that they were loosing air pressure. It was that moment that Donovan knew Dylan was right, his air brakes would fail while going too fast down the hill. The driver and firemen tried to apply the breaks, but they weren't being useful at the moment. Donovan went as fast as 30, 40, 50, 60, even 70mph going downhill. Then, Donovan became a runaway. There was no one else to help him slow the train down, all they could do is hope big time in case if the train stops. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the case. 1 miles away from a junction, and westbound Southern Pacific freight train with doubleheaded GS-6 4-8-4s named, Leonardo and Hunter were pulling a train over Donner Pass while they heard from the dispatcher from eastbound train #4446 with Donovan that they were out of control with the train wouldn't be able to stop because of the runaway. So the dispatchers told them to get on the other track to avoid an accident, or else they will be dead. so the double-headed GS-6s ram into the junction just in time before the collision would occur. They saw Donovan racing down the track at high speed passing by with a crash on one of their cars and caboose at the back of Leonardo and Hunter's train. Donovan was in danger that he couldn't stop in time, his driver and fireman fought for control desperately trying their best to stop him, but it was no use. There was nothing that the crew could do to save their train, so they all immediately jumped out in impact leaving Donovan and his train all alone. Donovan rambled along the tracks at full speed without his driver and fireman that leaped out of him, unable to stop in time, was terrified of what he's been experiencing. But then, it happened. A horrific scream was the last sound Donovan ever made while him and his train collided with a wall of rock at 120mph causing a massive train wreck that has been ever made in Donner Pass. One of the cars as tanker trucks were filled with gasoline that called a massive wildfire which firefighters had to put out in at least 6 hours. Which was bad enough for the accident, that it was one of the most devastating wildfires that has been caused by a train wreck. When Dylan, Ryan, Edward, Liz, Brad, and their siblings and friends heard the news about what happened to their brother/friend, they were in shock and sadness of the loss of their sibling/member. As they watch Donovan being towed to the scrapyard and cut up later during the evening of January 10, 1957. And after that, the fate of Donovan was sealed.

Ghost Train Resurrection/First Victim Murder[]

30 years later in 1987, a Canadian National U2G 4-8-4 "Confenderation" #6229, named "Angus" was shunting a freight train at the smelters yard when it encountered across a Southern Pacific GS-4 in black wartime livery with the number #4446. It was Donovan, making a grim expression starring into Angus' eyes with the CNR U2G frozen in fear backing up, unable to escape, and no way out. Suddenly, something terrific came to the CNR U2G. There, on Donovan showed 4 demon eyes, a red mars/headlight, a black number plate with red numbers, a Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, & Pacific (Milwaukee Road) Railroad 3 Chime Type steam locomotive whistle, and sharp teeth. Then, it happened. Donovan killed that poor locomotive, he was dead. When the workmen of the scrapyard came to the area, they saw the horrific site of what happened to Angus. They saw the side of the locomotive corpse, blood, distorted face, and gouged eyes out of his sockets. Investigators were called to see what happened to the locomotive but however they didn't know what happened what caused this to occur, but Donovan knew that he's the only who that actually did that. And so after several weeks of investigation, all research would be abandoned. And the fate of Angus The CNR U2G would be sealed.

Current Status[]

Today, Donovan now wears the number #6666 and not #4446 like he used to. If you see a GS04 in a wartime black, four demon eyes, a red mars/headlight, a black number plate with red numbers, and a Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, & Pacific (Milwaukee Road) Railroad 3 Chime Type steam locomotive whistle, that's Donovan. And if he sees you, he'll kill you. Today, Donovan roams the rails of the American Southwest killing every single engine in his path. So it's our best to warn you guys, that you need to stay away from Donovan. Because if you end up encountering him, there's no escape from him.

Appearance[]

Donovan is an evil, demonic, satanic, and sadistic ghost engine that haunts the rails of the American Southwest killing every single engine on his path. When he was alive in daylight livery, he was a hard-working, powerful, but rude, and reckless. When he was painted in the post-war black wartime livery while other faster Southern Pacific steam and diesel locomotives took over his trains and assigned to other assignments, his behavior changed. He became very arrogant, reckless, rude, and mean-spirited.
