Cerberus is a minor antagonist from Helltaker. The female demons that the titular Helltaker encountered in the third stage to obtain his demon harem, they are essentially a trio of demon dog triplets having a moniker of The Triple Demon due to their bodies happening to be inhabited by a single soul.

They can at best be described as excitable demons who took interest in Helltaker because with him on their side, they have the potential to cause some ruckus in the mortal realm after they escape Hell.

Appearance[]

All three bodies of Cerberus have a similar appearance so each other: Youthful demon-dog like girls with a long white hair, red eyes, a black vest with red shirt and a black tie tucked inside of it, a belt and gloves. Unlike other demon girls who have horns on their head, Cerberus has dog like ears on the top of their heads, befitting to the Cerberus of mythology. Most of the body is revealed to be inhabited by a single soul.

Personality[]

Most of the time, Cerberus appeared as excitable young women who try to let out their impulses to cause chaos in the human realm, evidenced by their attempts to corrupt the mortal realm after Helltaker strings them to his harem before returning to the human world, seemingly confident that nothing will happen to them. However, towards the end of the game, it is shown that they ended up regretting causing havoc in the human world and become afraid of the consequences that they will face from their destruction that attracted several police officers and SWAT Team members to Helltaker's home. In the comics, it is shown that Cerberus could get stuck in an infinite loop of pleasure after experiencing something exciting due to their bodies sharing only one mind which would causes a huge bloodshed in the end.

Biography[]

Cerberus first appears in the third stage of the game. When encountering the Helltaker for the first time, they took an interest in him because he is from the mortal realm and asks whether they could join his harem or not. Should he decide it seems too easy and has questions, the Helltaker would be ripped to shreds by Cerberus while dying from a heart attack due to their cuteness. To add insult to injury, due to the fact that they don't need the Helltaker in one piece, they could let themselves loose on the mortal realm with ease now.

However, if the Helltaker accepts the deal without questions, Cerberus then becomes elated due to the prospect on trying to corrupt the human world by entering the mortal realm. While playing a minor role on the next stages, Cerberus mostly acts like a dog who used their robust sense of smell to discover a certain stench which let the Helltaker know there are some demon girls nearby. One of these being Malina whom they attempt to hang out with.

When the Helltaker had a hard time to sabotaging the sin machine implemented by Judgement, Cerberus encourages the Helltaker to sabotage it harder because without him, they won't be able to get out and feel disappointed about it. However, towards the end of the game, as the Helltaker and his brand-new companions that he made in Hell successfully return home, due to their incompetence on wreaking havoc on the mortal realm, they ended up regretting it and attracting the police and their SWAT Forces to the Helltaker's home, which prompts him to try helping through bribing the police with pancakes to protect Cerberus.

In the comics, when the Helltaker asks about how their vessel works by asking how they would enjoy pancakes with pleasure due to them sharing only one mind, Cerberus then answers the fact that they can experience an infinite loop of pleasure which could get out of control and cause a potential bloodshed in the end much to Azazel's surprise. During Halloween, when several kids attempt to do a trick-on-treat on Helltaker's house, Cerberus became interested in the children and attempt to teach them several satanic rituals to corrupt them. Fortunately, they were tied up by Judgement as Helltaker gave them the candies that they wanted.

Trivia[]

• Cerberus was originally going to only have one sole form and appear younger, but after realizing the possible dangers of doing so, Cerberus was aged up and multiplied into three forms.
• Cerberus is named after the titular Greek mythological creature of the same name. In the myths, Cerberus itself is a huge three-headed hellhound who guarded the Greek Underworld. This makes sense for Cerberus' character as according to Vanripper in the concept art, Cerberus is revealed to be three vessels embodied by a single soul.
