~ The Absolute Solver before killing Tessa to use her body as a skin suit.
I missed you, N. You know, you're one of the main reasons I wanted your team to retain your personalities. You always surprised me. Loved doing... anything.
~ The Absolute Solver speaking with N.
It's been fun. And, also, that's sarcasm. Honestly, I'm starving.
~ The Absolute Solver after attacking N and Uzi.

The Absolute Solver, better known as its seemingly primary host Cyn, is the main antagonist of the 2021-2024 horror comedy web series Murder Drones.

It is a reality-warping computer virus of unknown origins that uses Worker Drones as hosts, capable of using organic matter to repair current hosts if they are damaged severely enough. After destroying Earth and many exoplanets prior to the series, it was experimented on by JCJenson scientists on Copper 9. This, however, just spread its influence and ended up resulting in Copper 9’s core collapsing and killing all humans on the planet. The Solver seeks to not only destroy Copper 9, but also the entire universe in order to satiate its hunger. It is also the arch-nemesis of Uzi, N, V and Nori Doorman, as well as the true mastermind behind the Disassembly Drones being sent to Copper 9.

Cyn, and by extension, The Solver, is primarily voiced by Allanah Fitzgerald. As Tessa, it is voiced by Daisy Rose.

Personality[]

The solver of the Absolute Fabric, the void, the exponential end!
~ The Solver describing itself to Serial Designation N.

The Absolute Solver is an unimaginably powerful entity with a knack of killing Worker Drones, then impersonating them as holograms to lure more victims to it. It also has a snarky sense of humor, as it pronounces its attacks and onomatopoeia of an action rather than actually doing it. In battle, the Solver has shown to take great joy and thrill in facing dangerous, high-speed combat against its opponents, showing very little concern over its well-being and the outcome of its fights.

Other than those traits, however, it's clear that the Solver is quite psychopathically sadistic as it enjoys killing humans, as well as drones. It also likes to taunt its victims smugly just for fun, before killing them in a brutal way. It is highly intelligent, successfully manipulating other characters on the show repeatedly by exploiting their emotional weaknesses and taking advantage of its ability to pose as other people to full effect, showing that the Solver is dangerous in both mind and body.

While the Solver is callous for the most part, it appears to take a particular interest in N, as he was the only person back at the manor that befriended it (under the impression that the Solver was simply Cyn). The Solver likewise viewed N as a brother figure and later admitted to him that he is one of the reasons why he and his team retained their personalities, noting that he always loved doing anything. It also appeared to have some form of care for Tessa, enough to inform her not to come to the gala and that she will not be discarded, despite not being particularly liked by Tessa herself. Whether this is out of genuine respect for the two, a part of Cyn's personality influencing it or a mere façade is unclear, but either way, this did not prevent it from subjecting them to the cruel fates it ultimately had in stored for them.

After being defeated by Uzi, the Solver became part of her when she burned Cyn's core and consumed what appeared to be the true source of the Absolute Solver; a black hole. While it is debatable as to whether it is tamed or not, the Solver does not seem to hold any ill will towards Uzi for ruining its plans, as it compliments on her looking great and asking her if she would consider wearing a bow, similar to the one it used before with Cyn and Tessa.

Biography[]

While it’s currently unknown how the Absolute Solver came to be, "Dead End" reveals that it is an eldritch entity that mutates from damaged AI, such as Worker Drones. At some point, Cyn, a Worker Drone that was improperly disposed of, became a host of the program, becoming the first known Zombie Drone. It was eventually adopted by Tessa to work at Elliot Manor, and was abused by her parents, which highly seems to be what lead the Solver to develop a hatred of humanity. One day, during a gala hosted by the Elliot family, it planned to kill all the humans present, but was willing to spare Tessa, warning her to stay away from the gala. However, Tessa wasn’t willing to let the Solver kill everyone in the gala, and tried to stop it. Unfortunately, this led the Solver to kill her as well, using her eviscerated corpse as a literal skin-suit for Cyn. From there, it went on to destroy Earth (along with all. life living on the planet) by collapsing its core. JCJenson scientists from Copper 9 found out about what happened, and took Cyn’s corrupted code in order to study it, testing its powers on some Worker Drones like Uzi’s mother Nori, and Doll’s mother Yeva. However, all they did was spread its influence and therefore, the Solver ended up killing every human on Copper 9, which lead the Worker Drones to take over the planet.

Sometime after Copper 9 was taken over by the Worker Drones, the Solver converts N, V, and J into Disassembly Drones, erases the memories of their past lives, and sent them to Copper 9 for unknown reasons. She made them think that they were sent by JCJenson to kill the Worker Drones, leading to the events of the series.

Sometime after J's death, a Worker Drone named Frank is assigned to repair the roof of the colony that N flew Uzi and V out of. J's corpse is secretly moved away and the Absolute Solver appears and kills Frank when he discovers J's remains. Later, the Absolute Solver continues to kill more Worker Drones by luring them with holograms the Absolute Solver's creating, to take in parts and material to fix J's body.

Eventually, Uzi, N and Thad find something with the mysterious symbol that keeps appearing on Uzi's eye, which explains that the Solver is a program that activates when the host (Disassembly Drone) is destroyed to repair it. While Uzi reads it she finds out that the program is known as the "Absolute Solver", which is seemingly able to function as a backup program for the Disassembly Drones. Just when they were about to discover more, Thad is grabbed by a hand connected to a long extending arm controlled by the Solver. While attempting to drag Thad away, N quickly throws a ninja star slicing the arm off, the Solver knocks both N and Uzi down and grabs Thad again, this time successfully dragging Thad away into the darkness.

N and Uzi chase after Thad, and enter a cryo-pod room which the Absolute Solver has a hologram of Thad in. This attempt to fool N and Uzi fails and N throws another ninja star slicing off the limb holding Thad, allowing him to escape. After Thad escapes, the Solver reveals itself and shows a brief hologram of Uzi's mother, which confuses Uzi. Uzi asks N about the hologram but, N is nowhere to be seen. the Solver then creates a hologram of Khan, and rips him in half in front of Uzi, disorienting her. A hologram of N then appears and tricks Uzi into giving him the railgun, which the Solver then smashes, and also knocks Uzi onto the cryo-pods.

Just before Uzi is killed, N reappears and cuts off many of the Solver's limbs with his retractable chainsaws, and flies Uzi away before the railgun explodes, heavily damaging the Absolute Solver. N is able to keep Uzi safe from the blast, and N sees the heart of the Solver trying to escape and starts stabbing it with his acidic tail. After multiple stabs, the Absolute Solver then turns into a black sphere and disappears. This incident leaves Uzi mentally scared, and causes her to question her safety with N.

Later, the Solver would take over Uzi on a school trip and use her to murder two of her classmates, causing Uzi to feel scared about losing control over herself. However, N successfully snaps Uzi out of the Solver's influence for a while.

Sometime after the school trip, Uzi hacks into both N and V's minds so that they can remember their past and the intentions of those who sent them to Copper 9. In this flashback, the Solver repeatedly attempts to permanently erase their memories. However, with guidance from Uzi (who takes the form of a crow) and some luck, the two successfully get their memories back and they soon travel to the location that started it all to see if there is some way to put an end to the Solver.

Deciding to take the form of Tessa by wearing her skin-suit, the Solver poses as an ally to the trio while subtly attempting to either impede their progress or get them killed all together. She lies to V that she was able to control the Sentinels that were guarding the entrance to the main research center (an abandoned, underground church) who are capable of disabling Drones by flashing them with hopes that they would be devoured by the Sentinels, but it turns out a Drone by the name of Alice has started an operation in the area near the entrance where she kidnaps any unfortunate Drones and tortures them for her amusement, who would subsequently capture Uzi, V and N.

After N manages to escape, the Solver manipulates N into believing that Uzi will have to die in order for the universe to be saved and shows him the image of the destroyed Earth, but before he can say anything else, the group is attacked by Sentinels, but are later saved by an escaped V. V expresses her frustrations with "Tessa" for lying about being able to control the Sentinels, but they put it aside when the Sentinels attack again, causing V to sacrifice herself in order for "Tessa" and the escaped duo to make it to the mines below their location that holds the entrance to the church.

After arriving in the mines, the Solver patronizes Uzi with jabs at her immaturity and manipulates N into believing that it would be best if Uzi stayed behind. However, an explosion caused by Uzi causes the three of them to be separated from each other, giving the Solver ample opportunity to kill everyone else. It begins by trying to murder N while he is pinned underneath some rocks, but N is later saved by Nori, who is alive but in the form of a mechanical spider.

The Solver goes on to murder Doll, who has somehow found a way into the mines herself and then takes Doll's corpse into the church in order to frame Uzi as the true killer in the eyes of Uzi herself. "Tessa" then goes to the lockers and bulletin boards that contained information on all the Worker Drones that were used in the Absolute Solver experiments and destroys all the evidence. "Tessa" then attempts to kill Uzi with a sword, but is stopped by N, who decapitates her with his finger claw.

After this, the Solver takes control of Uzi and a brief fight between N, Nori and Uzi takes place, with the Solver nearly killing the two of them, but managed to triumph by using brute force and strategy, ending with N and Nori managing to free Uzi from the Solver's control. However, it is then revealed that "Tessa" was really the Solver having skin-grafted Tessa's corpse onto Cyn all along, mocking the two of them right before attempting to drag them down into Copper 9's core. Uzi decides to sacrifice herself by throwing N back up the hole they were being pulled into and blasting him outside the church before accepting her fate as she is pulled into the bottomless pit.

Cyn is now about to destroy the entirety of Copper 9, they then prepare for the battle with Cyn as they crash into the planet, while V angrily confronts J, accusing them of betraying their squadron and her partnership with Cyn.

Before they can continue, Uzi and N appear and throw a black hole at their location. But when they land, Cyn finally reveals herself, destroying Uzi's black hole. She welcomes them, then attempts a callback ping on Uzi, aiming to assert control. Uzi resists, retorting with her signature line, "Bite me."

This prompted Cyn to rush her by cutting her hand off and push her core out of her body. Before any further damage, N comes in and tries to hit Cyn, which she teleports from. Uzi tries to recover from the damage while Cyn pulls N to the ground, she starts to claw into N's chest, repeating the words "Let me in." Uzi sees this and gets enough power to collapse the balcony they are on.

Uzi uses the distraction of N to escape from Cyn into some nearby corridors with N's body, reviving him and hiding from Cyn within the building.

However, when V enters the building and attempts to call out to N and apologize for her dishonesty, N is forced to yell out to stop her before she is tricked by a hologram of him, consequently being dragged out of his hiding place, with the Absolute Solver commenting that V did a "bad job," before forcing her outside the building, where she prepares to eat N's "heart". However, thanks to timely intervention from Khan, the heart slips out of her hand and back into N's body.

In exasperation, Cyn attempts to slice V and N apart, before Uzi reappears and cuts off her tail claiming that no one can "traumatize these weirdly hot robots except for me," while also acknowledging V's return. When Cyn attempts to use her Callback Ping to take control of Uzi again however, it backfires, and it appears that Cyn is being corrupted by Uzi briefly before Uzi gives a brief monologue. before they engage in battle.

J is eventually disarmed and thrown into the pits below them, while Cyn manages to isolate Uzi. However, when Uzi notices the flickering of Cyn's form, she turns around to catch the real Cyn behind her, her hand piercing through her chest. This allows her to tear her heart out and creates a hole in Copper 9's atmosphere, burning up the physical form by exposing it to the nearby sun. However, this leaves behind a "core" which expands into a massive sphere that renders everything monochrome. Inside, Cyn's body attempts to reabsorb the core, and in a fit of desperation, Uzi swallows the core herself, leaving Cyn shocked. The black hole disappears, and Tessa's corpse falls to its knees and slowly melting away now that it lacks the core that kept it together, finally defeating Cyn once and for all.

In the aftermath, Uzi stands outside of her locker, staring into its mirror, which flickers an image of her core instead of breaking. It's then revealed The Solver survived by possessing her tail, but became a servant to Uzi and offers her clothing advice by perching the same bow Tessa wore on top of her head. Uzi, distressed by what she has to put up with, promptly shuts the locker without saying a word.

Trivia[]

  • It's possible that, as a force, the Absolute Solver has the ability to infect Worker Drones. This seemingly turns them into Zombie Drones, which are beings very similar to Disassembly Drones with a few differences. Most notably, Zombie Drones have organic wings and tails whereas Disassembly Drones have mechanical wings and tails, and Zombie Drones are much more blindly murderous whereas proper Disassembly Drones only seems to murder real enemies.
    • This isn't the only effect of the Absolute Solver infecting Worker Drones, however, since it also seems to give them the need to consume oil (proven by how Doll was revealed to be eating the Worker Drones she murdered, and how Uzi also got a craving for oil in the third and fourth episodes).
    • Another effect is that sunlight seemingly becomes lethal to infected Worker Drones. This is proven by how Uzi nearly starts burning up when a ray of sunlight touches her at the end of the fourth episode, proving that N was telling the truth about sunlight being lethal to Disassembly Drones.
  • It's unknown if the Absolute Solver is man-made or extraterrestrial in origin.
  • Despite Cyn simply being the Solver's host to influence the physical universe, both the fandom and Glitch themselves use "Cyn" and "Absolute Solver" interchangeably.
