Lakeside is a station on the northern end of the Skarloey Railway, reached by a loop line.
History[]
Lakeside is a sizeable community situated around the mouth of the lake, nestled between the mountains. There is a harbour here which houses a variety of fishing boats, as well as the paddle tug Lakesider III. The railway runs through the town in a loop, and a bascule bridge carries it across the lake. The station consists of two platforms and a separate ticket office. A variety of businesses are located in the town here.

- Lakeside Bridge - a single-track narrow gauge drawbridge across the mouth of the harbour.
- Lakeside Junction - the junction for the Lakeside Loop Line.
- West Lakeside Junction - a junction half a mile west of the village, leading to the Rocky Ridge Line.
- Neptune Refreshments - a shop owned by the Refreshment Lady.

Trivia[]
- The houses at Lakeside are inspired by Barlwyd Terrace and similar buildings along the route of the Ffestiniog Railway.
- The pointy tops of the Lakeside Drawbridge were actually made from superglue lids.
- In the 2003 Writer's bible, Lakeside was incorrectly called "Lakeland".
