Po Bidau Family

The Po Bidau Family (포 비더 가문, Po Bideo Gamun) is one of the 10 Great Families led by Po Bidau Gustang.

History[]

After Gustang stole the Zahard's Bracelet in the Hidden Floor through special Shinheuh, the Treasure Eating Stingray, for the first time in centuries King Zahard issued the new Three Orders. One of the order requires the destruction of the Po Bidau Family. Gustang who has already expected such an obvious reaction from Zahard, had evacuated the majority of his family onboard the Po Bidau Family Floating Castle. Before the Floating Castle went into hiding, it Warped right in front of Ha Cheonhee's Warship, blocking their flight path. Gustang then forcibly teleported Rachel and Ha Yura from the prison inside Cheonhee's warship into Po Bidau Family Floating Castle to retrieve the Stingray which carry the Zahard's Bracelet. Then the Unnamed Po Bidau continued to announce words from Gustang that the Po Bidau Family declared "war and hostility" towards the Zahard Empire.^[2]

Structure[]

The Po Bidau family is known as the guardians of knowledge, literature, and history.^[3] The Po Bidau family's mothership is called the Ark of Knowledge. True to its name, inside the mothership is filled with places to read, befitting a family that cherishes books. There is also a reading room specifically designed for outsiders to enjoy the books.

As revealed by Po Bidau Michel and Po Bidau Richemont, Gustang possess the ability to “create” living beings from shinsu, having created the two of them using his “written texts”. ^[4] Implying that many of the other members of the Po Bidau Family are also Gustang’s creations instead of being his actual biological children, which was later confirmed with all "Head Librarians" being writings created by Gustang^[5]. Later, it would be stated by Po Bidau Tiara that the entirety of the Po Bidau Family consisted of beings created by Gustang using his “writings”, with it being stated that he never had any genuine biological children since Eurasia Enne Zahard’s was sealed. ^[6] Therefore implying that all of his “direct” descendants are merely his creations and Gustang has no genuine blood descendants from their children that make up the Po Bidau Family.

Old Settings[]

According to the old lore, the males of Gustang’s family are selected to work in a research group called the Research Association. If they do not make it as members, they are eventually kicked out of the family.^[7] Because it is a very powerful and exclusive group, the members enjoy high reputation and fame, matched only by the "Chosen children of Khun".^[7]

Powers and Abilities[]

Not much known about the abilities of Po Bidau Family besides their great intellectuality with all researches about the Tower. Po Bidau Family members are most likely also proficient in the use of Shinsu, just like the Family Head Po Bidau Gustang who is a master in handling shinsu with great accuracy.

Military Forces[]

Like with the other 10 Great Families, the Po Bidau Family possess their own private army and legions of soldiers ready to be deployed under the orders of their Family Head. Like with the other Families, their Army is primarily lead by the High Ranked members from the Po Bidau Family. As shown and unique to their personal forces, the Po Bidau Family’s armies have unique military rankings of “Librarians”. With the rank of "Head Librarian" and “First-Class Librarian” seemingly being the family’s designation for their powerful Rankers, who are then given immense power and influence of their family’s military. All "Head Librarians" are writings that were created by Gustang^[5]. As shown where Head Librarians and First-Class Librarians are generally commanders and generals of their forces or take personal orders and assignments from the Po Bidau Family’s Head or his second in command.

Prior to their hostility with the Zahard Empire, its been stated that several members of the Po Bidau Family held high ranked position in the Empire’s government and in their Army, granting the family immense sway and influence in the Empire. Upon Gustang declaration of his family’s hostility and separation from the Empire, the Upper ranks of Zahard’s Empire was put into a difficult position due to the numerous members of the Po Bidau Family occupying important positions that made it difficult removing them from power without damaging their infrastructure.

An example of this is Po Bidau Lyborick Khun, who is the current commander of the 4th Army Corp and prior served directly under Adori Zahard and King Zahard since the Age of Genesis.

As shown from the Po Bidau Army’s defensive fleet around The Sprout, they also have a Ancient Weapon in their armory. As shown, the weapon itself takes the form of a gigantic, orb like ship able to fire powerful laser blasts. The firepower of the weapon is powerful enough to compeltely decimate fleets, as shown where it was able to annhilate the fleet and army brought by the Lo Po Bia Family, with only their Branch Family Heads surviving the weapon’s blast.

Notes and Trivia[]

Po Bidau Family has always considered itself a defender of History and Knowledge. They hate distorted history more than anything.^[8]
Enne was the child of Eurasia Blossom and Po Bidau Gustang. However, her surname was Eurasia and not Po Bidau.
After the Eurasia Enne Zahard incident, both the Po Bidau and Eurasia Families forbade marriages between their two Families and have been in a hostile relationship ever since.^[9]
Po Bidau Family hasn't produced any Zahard Princess ever since the Enne Zahard incident. Po Bidau Tiara was selected but she refused.^[10] Another Princess Candidate, Yulia, was possibly from the Po Bidau Family, possibly prior to the Enne Zahard incident.
Book Club Readings are an important event conducted regularly within Po Bidau Family. The Family Head himself will make an appearance at the end of the event. Po Bidau Gustang started Book Club Reading events back when he was still climbing the tower with other Family Heads.^[8]
- The most prominent and common trait among the Po Bidau Family is that they are all book lovers and enjoy reading books more than anything, as shown where there are numerous library’s in their battleship and a majority of the Po Bidau onboard spent their time reading books. As shown, this trait was inherited from their Family Head.
Po Bidau Gustang is the only Family Head who makes regular public appearances to his Family during their public Book Club Reading events. This is unique to Po Bidau Family only, as other Family Heads rarely make public appearances.^[8]
After unknowingly bringing Gustang the Zahard's Bracelet and Zahard’s Ring, Rachel and her group was seemingly allowed to join the Po Bidau Family. Albeit, its been shown that while the Upper ranks of the family work with her, many of the family members don’t actually like her or her group’s involvement with their family’s business.
