Kirifu Megumi (切斑 芽美 Kirifu Megumi?) is a minor character in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. She is a student in Tokiwadai Middle School in Academy City and is also a Level 4 esper whose power is telekinesis.
Appearance[]
She appears as a young middle school girl with a slender body frame, making her seem boyish in appearance. Complementing this is light colored hair that is bobbed cut.
Personality[]
As to be expected of a girl going to Tokiwadai Middle School, she has a lofty attitude, and have a somewhat teasing demeanor, even on fellow Tokiwadai students. Although, she has shown concern when her trickery has gone too far.[1]
Background[]
Mikoto startling Kirifu Megumi and her companions
One year before the main story, on a day early in May, Kirifu was leaving a room with two other students when she nearly bumped into the then-newly promoted Level 5 Misaka Mikoto. As Mikoto was walking away, the trio made disparaging remarks behind her back, which Mikoto heard and decided to respond to. Using her powers to stand on the ceiling, Mikoto surprised the trio with a shout from behind as they had turned back to look in the direction where she had been before. After a brief exchange, Mikoto suggested they could take things outside if they doubted her power, prompting the intimidated trio to flee.[2]

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun[]
In her debut appearance in the Railgun manga, she and her friends see Kongou Mitsuko gathering people to form a clique. Thinking that Kongou must be conceited to form a clique since she just transferred in, Megumi decides to play a joke on her by controlling her fan with her own power, but she unwittingly takes it too far when Kongou falls down a flight of stairs. Later, she apparently apologizes to Kongou but refuses her offer of joining her clique before leaving.[1]
Daihasei Festival Arc[]

She reappears with Kongou in the Daihaseisai during a ball displacement competition with Kongou against an obviously weaker school, seemingly having amended with her. After the other school lures them out, Megumi manages to track down Omoshi. Hither, she shows her telekinetic superiority against an assumed fellow telekinetic, haughty and once again boastful of her power. However, she is thrown out of the competition after she eliminates him during her boast, as a fellow comrade of her opponent displaces the ball from her cap. Revealing that he wasn't a telekinetic, and that his comrade was the true telekinetic.[3]
Kirifu Megumi participates in the cavalry battle game in the later days of the Daihaseisai, aiding Wannai Kinuho and Awatsuki Maaya. She holds her along with another Tokiwadai student and notes that Kinuho is light, unbeknownst to her that Maaya used her powers to make it so.[4]
Dream Ranker Arc[]

She appears in an Indian Poker card that Misaka Mikoto was using while searching for the Bust Upper card. In dream, she remembered her mistake at the Daihaseisai and her own insecurities.[5]
Abilities[]
A level 4 telekinetic type esper, she has shown supremacy over her opponent in the field of manipulating objects (several at the same time) using her mind alone.[3]
