Kazan'in Tsukasa (花山院つかさ Kazanin Tsukasa?) is a student of Tokiwadai Middle School who appears in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. She was a member of the Mikagami Clique, one year before the main story.[1][2]
Appearance[]
Kazan'in has light colored waist-length hair. She wears the Tokiwadai Middle School uniform.[1]
Personality[]
As a classist, she is easily provoked by and looks down on anyone who is of a lower status.[1] She is proud, and Hasekura noted that her pride meant she would be unlikely to lie about a commoner getting the better of her.[3]

She's a classist who has a disdain for Tokiwadai's admittance of plebeians.[2][1]

First Year Arc[]

At 8AM one summer day, Kazan'in intentionally disdained Enjou and her family for being low status. Enjou used her esper ability to threaten her, but both of their friends stopped the conflict between them. At the same day 4:20PM, Kazan'in was attacked by someone's power while leaving school. Later, she claimed it was Enjou's ribbon control power.[1]
Kazan'in was present when Mikagami announced to her clique the temporary truce with Hasekura in light of a possible external culprit. Although she and others raised objections, Mikagami's words, and her promise to use her ability for each member if the culprit being caught, ultimately quietened them down.[4]
When the Mikagami and Sha cliques reinforced the Hasekura clique in a raid on the headquarters of Montgolfier, the culprit behind the attacks that instigated and aggravated the clique conflict, Kazan'in was involved in the resulting battle with Montgolfier's operatives and their prototype weapons.[5] During the raid, Mibuki saved her from a sudden flame attack by Attachment Dark Matter.[6]
Kazan'in belittling Enjou again, as tensions remain between the Hasekura and Mikagami cliques during the theatre visit.
During her art appreciation elective in October, Kazan'in visited a theatre in School District 9 with a group of Tokiwadai students including members of the Mikagami and Hasekura cliques. Before the performance, Kazan'in belittled Enjou again, with Asato Kisa standing in front of Enjou and trading verbal blows with her.[7] Following the performance, she and Asato were at the head of the departing Tokiwadai crowd as they learned that a fire had broken out backstage.[7] After Shokuhou had taken care of the other panicking guests and prompted the Tokiwadai students into action, Kazan'in did her part in their collective efforts to ensure people were safe from the fire.[8]

Kazan'in graduated Tokiwadai at the start of the school's current year, alongside her friend and Mikagami. During the graduation ceremony, Enjou had a final word with her, their mutual friends in attendance.[9]
Abilities[]

She is a Level 4 esper who can use compressed air to cut, grind, and bind targets. Her ability's raw power is average, but thanks to the extreme precision, she is famous for being one of the best sculptors in the Academy City.[2]
Trivia[]
- In the magazine release of Chapter 133, her hair had darker shades. It was changed in Volume 17, with subsequent chapters released after the volume following suit.[1][2]
