Demon's Paw (胴抜き Dōnuki?, Torso Removal) is a move introduced to Jin Kazama in Tekken 3 and Devil Jin in Tekken 5 and onwards. In Tekken (Mobile) it was also used by Tiger Miyagi.
Description[]
The user performs a thrusting right punch to the opponent's midsection to knock down, with the opponent sent rolling backwards on counter hit. It also acts as the final hit of the Laser Cannon. In Tekken 8, it serves as a Heat Engager for both characters. For both characters the move has been reanimated (where they lean forwards while executing the attack -- Jin also gains a black wing over his shoulder when he performs the move while Devil Jin has ghostly red chains surrounding his limb) but Jin will use the original Tekken 3 version when he re-adopts the Mishima fighting style in his battle against Kazuya during Tekken 8's Story Mode.
In Tekken (Mobile) both Jin and Tiger Miyagi utilize the move serving as one of their Strike Waza Cards. The only difference is their damage. Jin can deal 212 damage while Tiger deals 264 damage. Jin's Demon Paw becomes even stronger in his 4-Star appearance, dealing 647 damage instead.
Trivia[]
- Jin retained this move even after switching to Traditional Karate and discarding his original fighting style (Mishima Style Fighting Karate and Kazama-Style Self Defense).
- From Tekken 6 onward, Jin was given a new animation, while Devil Jin would keep the original animation. However, when Jin enters Omen stance in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, he will use the original Demon's Paw animation.
- In Street Fighter X Tekken, the animation of Jin's Wind Hook Fist appears as a more powerful version of his Demon's Paw.
