Omen (兆候 Kizashi?), also called Devil Jin Possession, is a stance exclusive to Jin Kazama introduced in Tekken Tag Tournament that can only be performed if he is partnered with Heihachi Mishima. The command must be input during the Force animation, not after. If the command inputted is 2,2,3, the entire Force animation will show. However, if ~2~2~3 is inputted, the latter part of Force is cancelled (hence "Force cancel").
During Omen, Jin will adopt Heihachi's fighting stance. He will also get Devil/Devil Jin's third eye on his forehead, which is what led to the alternate name "Devil Jin Possession".
Omen in Tekken Tag Tournament 2[]
This move officially returns once again in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 with a different command. Though the player still has to perform Jin's Power Stance move (b+1+2) they must now hold b and press 1,1,4 during the animation. Now Jin is able to do this move with any Mishima or Devil Jin as his partner. With this move, he is able to use part of his original Tekken Tag Tournament moveset. It also allows him to transform into Devil Jin if Devil Jin is Jin's tag partner.
Details[]
Movements that Remain in Omen Stance[]
Most actions performed during Omen will cancel Jin of the stance. The only movements that may be used while maintaining Omen stance are:
- dash forward
- dash backwards
- walking forward
- and taking small steps backwards (continuously walking backwards will cause him exit Omen stance).
If only these moves are used, Jin can remain in Omen stance indefinitely.
Movements that Exit Omen Stance[]
Actions that make Jin exit Omen stance are:
- starting a crouch
- jumping
- finishing a crouch dash
- continuously walking backwards
- blocking
- sidestepping
- tagging out
- getting hit
- attacking
In the last case, if the attack is an "Omen attack" (see "Chains to" in the box), Jin exits Omen after the attack. If it is not, he exits it before the attack.
Damage and properties[]
The damage and/or the properties of Omen moves are usually quite different from their regular counterparts. Most notably, almost all Omen moves do recoil damage to Jin himself at the end of the move animation, whether the move connects, is blocked, or whiffs. Also, some Omen moves seem to be more effective against either one or both of his parents (Jun Kazama and Kazuya Mishima), in the sense that they do more damage and the recoil damage is less.
Deflection[]
When Omen moves are blocked by either Jin (opponent), Heihachi Mishima, Devil, or any of the mimics (Unknown, Mokujin, and Tetsujin) mimicking them, the move is deflected completely, pushing back not only the blocking character, but Jin (player) as well. However, this interruption in the animation also means that Jin will not take any recoil damage. This property remains in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, with the addition of Devil Jin, Kazuya Mishima, Jun Kazama, Asuka Kazama, and Lars Alexandersson causing knockback when Jin's Electric Wind God Fist is blocked.

Trivia[]
- Normally, the Japanese name of the term 兆候 is read as "chōkō". "Kizashi" comes from the kun'yomi rendering of 兆 by itself.
- Jin uses Heihachi's fighting stance in the Tekken 3 EMBU scene. In Tekken Tag Tournament, Jin also uses Heihachi's fighting stance before the start of a round when teamed up with Heihachi if both characters are in their left punch outfits. Unlike Omen however, these instances lack the Devil Jin facial markings.
