Strider Ouga (ストライダー王牙, meaning King Fang) is a minor character introduced in the 2014 Strider, as part of the "Fallen Striders" costume/alternate color set.
Ouga was an Special-A Rank agent in the Striders, a powerful Strider of the highest order. He wielded a Cypher weapon known as the Twin Cypher (ツイン・サイファー).[1]
While he possessed the genuine skills and strength of a top Strider agent, Ouga was in truth simply a murderer who wandered around seeking to soak his Twin Cyphers with the blood of his preys[1]. Even though Striders of A-Rank and above are permitted to use animal-themed codenames, Ouga refused to carry out this honor[1]. Ouga wore a light-beige chest armor, chaps and leg wraps over a black under armor, leggings and mask. He carried the first kanji of his name, "ou" (王, king) as his personal emblem.
Story[]
Strider (2014)[]
Ouga was one of the 11 agents who infiltrated Kazakh City previous to Hiryu, carrying the mission to assassinate Grandmaster Meio. Ouga was assigned to infiltrate and destroy the flying Airship Balrog, the symbol of the absolute rule of Meio's Army. While in the middle of his mission, however, he was faced by Bounty Hunter Solo and fell against his skills in the ensuing battle.[1]
Design Notes[]
Ouga's costume color scheme (beige/black) is based off the primary color scheme of Ibuki, the female ninja character introduced in Street Fighter III[2]. Hiryu was first given this same color scheme/reference as "Color 5" in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
The pronunciation of Ouga's name is identical to the katakana spelling of the word "Ogre" (オーガ), a fitting description given his bloodthirsty personality.
