A region of the Core Worlds planet Alderaan contained the famous mountain known as Appenza Peak, as well as the capital city Aldera. The region had a flag that bore the image of the mountain.[2] Along with the rest of the planet, it was destroyed[3] in 0 BBY[1] when the Galactic Empire's Death Star battle station fired on Alderaan.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
The region first appeared in the 2005 film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[4] It was first described as a unique region in the 2017 novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan, written by Claudia Gray.[2]
