Revan and the Genoharadan[]

Everyone who has played KotOR knows about the Genoharadan, and those who indulged their darker side to play out the sidequest knows about Hulas and his very ingenious takeonver of the Guild by having the unsuspecting Revan kill off the three other Overseers. For 25,000 years the Genoharadan were the secret protectors of the Republic, and after Xim the Despot died, it was never controled by one being...until Hulas. If indeed Revan did kill all the Overseers for Hulas, and Hulas controlled the Guild on his own, what would happen? Is it a mere coincidence that a few thousand years later (which is not much time, considering that the Republic lasted for 30,000 years) that the Republic itself became corrupt and collapsed? Perhaps if Hulas, either the corrupt leader of the Genoharadan, or himself dead and rendering the Guild leaderless, lead the Genoharadan to its downfall, then could its end be responsible for the Republic's inevitable corruption, and its vulnerability to Sith manipulation? Could Revan, the savior of the Republic, be responsible for its downfall 4,000 years later? Unsigned comment by Bredd13 (talk • contribs).

  • The republic lasted for only a rough count of 25,033 years and it is highly unlikely that an organization like the GenoHaradan could be the only thing standing between the Republic and total anarchy, it is more likely that the corrupt bureaucratic capitalist environment that Palpatine exploited simply came simply from 1000 years of peace (long periods of peace are usually detrimental to the republic when a war comes around) and because of the decentralized government that came out of the Ruusan reformations--99.141.193.111 13:31, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Time[]

I am not much aware about the society's backstory, but should we add the 'Pre-republic' category to it? MoffRebus 17:30, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

  • They already have 'Pre-Republic' in their infobox, being formed by Xim the Despot. Is that what you mean? -BaronGrackle 22:45, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
    • I meant the Category:Pre-Republic MoffRebus 22:48, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Ah. Well, we could, but its most well-known period was in the Old Republic. Can it be in both categories? -BaronGrackle 12:12, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
        • Yes of course. The category is for anything that existed before the Republic (except of course, planets and races :)) MoffRebus 07:45, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Similarity to ST's Section 31[]

I've added in a small sidenote about the resemblance the Genoharadan share with Star Trek's Section 31.. (Memory Alpha link) --Challenger STA 18:45, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

  • That seems like superfluous conjecture. There are plenty of real secret police that the Genoharadan resemble. The Gestapo comes to mind. Why make needless Star Trek references when in all likelihood Section 31 had nothing to do with the creative process behind the Genoharadan? 69.217.51.108 03:02, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Sources[]

What source mentions Xim the Despot? It should be added as a Source/Appearance. MoffRebus 18:31, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

About Revan again...[]

Since Revan has been added to the member's list, do we have a source confirming his membership as canon, or is that just another one of the many non-canon paths the player can take throughout the game? --School of Thrawn 101 10:21, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

  • I guess Imp's on it...still doesn't answer my question. --School of Thrawn 101 10:32, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Since it's unknown whether or not Revan chose to join the Genoharadan, any information stating such should go in the Behind the scenes section. --Imp ATATatarismall.png 10:37, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Genoharadan or GenoHaradan?[]

Any reason why article speaks of Genoharadan whereas KotOR has GenoHaradan, with one or two exceptions which make it look like the latters were misspeled? --Xaal 11:30, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Sequel?[]

"The GenoHaradan had a part in the sequel to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords"

What sequel? {{SUBST:User:Xavius/Signature}} 19:48, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Decimated during the Jedi Civil War?[]

The KotOR campaign guide states about the GenoHaradan on p. 105 that, "Revan is rumored to have decimated the organization during his search for the Star Forge, but like so much of GenoHaradan history, this cannot be confirmed." Does this establish that the organization was indeed decimated during the Jedi Civil War? It doesn't establish that Revan did it, no, but it seems rather silly to imply it, if the organization wasn't decimated at the time at all. Jediphile 20:48, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

  • If it says "this cannot be confirmed," then it cannot be confirmed. --Bron Hañda 00:13, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Innacurate Date for Republic in Behind the Scenes[]

This seems to be incorrect in the Behind the Scenes section.

"...before the Galactic Republic (30,000 BBY)..."

Here we're saying that the Republic was founded 30,000 BBY, but I thought it was 25,053 BBY? It still doesn't make Hulas' information accurate but at the same time it's still an inaccuracy.

Or is the article meant to imply that 30,000 BBY is the date the GenoHaradan would have been founded according to our friend Hulas? --Ti-7-4Raven 06:44, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Knights of the Eternal Throne[]

They ambush you on Dromund Kaas and fail to kill the alliance commander and Empress Acina.
