SK was a unit of measurement of computer data.[1] A Swift 78B Vessel Courier System, a skull implant that could be used to carry sensitive information, could hold 800 SKs of memory.[2]
During the Galactic Civil War,[3] the group of renegade slicers known as the Skaak Tippers took the first part of their name from a combination of the SK unit of measure and the aak dog,[1] an animal native to the planet Haruun Kal.[4] "Tipper," the founder of the group, believed the word made the Skaak Tippers sound like vicious computer hackers.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The SK unit of measure was first mentioned in the 1991 sourcebook Cracken's Rebel Field Guide, a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games.[2]
