Shipyards were massive facilities that constructed starships of various sizes. The planet Rendili had an extensive system of smaller shipyards scattered across the Mid Rim and Outer Rim Territories that gave it a temporary ascendancy after the First Battle of Geonosis.[1] During the High Republic Era by the year 232 BBY,[2] the Republic shipyards are operated by the Galactic Republic on the Core Worlds planet[3] Hosnian Prime to build the Longbeam cruiser Aurora IX, for the use within the Republic Defense Coalition.[4] The planet Anaxes was home to a shipyard facility that provided the Galactic Republic with warships during the Clone Wars.[5] During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance bombed the Imperial shipyards at Kuat.[6] The First Order, after murdering one of its inhabitants took over the shipyards orbiting Fondor.[7]
