These gray transports were oblong with smoothly rounded hull adorned with blue accent markings. A defensive laser cannon was mounted on the dorsal surface of each ship and large viewports ran along the surface of both sides of the vessel. The propulsion system consisted of two large drive engines.

In the days before the opening of the Great Galactic War, Harrower-class dreadnoughts started appearing on the edge of the Tingel Arm, not knowing its origins the Republic sent a diplomatic convoy, lead by a Republic transport ship with a small starfighter escort, to investigate; The fleet, belonging to the resurgent Sith Empire, held position as the Emperor wanted the Republic and the Jedi to know the full extent of his military might before he attacked, the diplomats aboard the transport had just enough time to send images back before they were destroyed.

After the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, Jedi Master Dar'Nala and Jedi Knight Satele Shan were en route to Korriban to oversee the smooth withdrawal of Republic troops. After passing through the Kuat sector of the Core Worlds, the transport they were traveling in, the Envoy, came under attack by a Sith warship. After seeing Master Dar'Nala captured by Sith forces, Shan escaped the ship, with SP-99 in tow, aboard an escape pod. Though she retreated, at Master Dar'Nala's urging, to warn the Republic of the Sith's treachery, Shan vowed to return and rescue her former master.
