Red Six was the call sign of the sixth member of Red Squadron. There were a number of starfighter squadrons with this name, and several pilots went by the call sign Red Six.
History[]
A Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor pilot used the call sign Red Six as a member of the Galactic Republic's Red Squadron under the command of Jedi Master Mavra Zane. While pursuing Separatist leader Shu Mai over Felucia, "Red Six" claimed to be unimpressed by the size of the Separatist dreadnought Sujugator, prompting a rebuke from Zane for grandstanding.[1]
Jek Tono Porkins used the call sign when he flew with the Rebel Alliance's Red Squadron on a mission to Commenor and during the Battle of Yavin.[3] Jek was killed in the assault against the first Death Star when his T-65 X-wing starfighter was destroyed by the space station's guns.[2] Instrumental in success of strafing attacks against the Death Star the X-wing starfighter skipped last inspection of computer and flight control systems.
After the Battle of Hoth, Ace Azzameen flew an X-wing starfighter as Red Six on a reconnaissance mission, during which he destroyed the Kuat Facility.[4]
At the Battle of Endor, another Rebel pilot flew under the call sign Red Six, reporting to Red Leader Wedge Antilles that the squadron commander had picked up a tailing enemy ship, before discovering that an Imperial fighter squadron was launching an attack on the Alliance's medical frigate.[5]
